Amsterdam | Travel Diary

I feel like Amsterdam is the place where everyone is going recently, and I can see why. It really is such a beautiful city, the buildings, layout and places to see are just stunning. I love the architecture of all the buildings, they're all so unique and pretty. It's easy to navigate around whether you're walking, cycling or using any public transport. I love the cycling culture, I did try my hand at cycling and loved it, even though I could never do it at home. There's so many museums and interesting places to visit if you're a tourist and I didn't get to do much of it so I say I will visit again in the future. As always I thought I'd share a few photos from my trip.

Of course you need your canal photos, what kind of tourist would I be without it?

Even their train station is prettier than any other I've seen.

Has anyone been to visit Amsterdam before? What was your favourite place?

Easter Lush Baa Bar | Review

It obviously wouldn't be my blog if I didn't review one of Lush's holiday type products for each season. I try not to go crazy and buy too much, as I would buy them all if I could. I try to pick the products that I think I'd like the best to try out and I'm usually right in my choices. This time, for Easter, I've chosen the Baa Bar, because I love sheep and I think it's so cute. How could you not buy this?

This bubble bar is shaped like a sheep, it has a white body and a purple face. I thought it was going to be white throughout the whole body but it's actually the same colour as the purple head on the inside. This smells a lot like Sleepy, which I have reviewed on my blog recently, and it contains the same lavender and soothing qualities it does to help you sleep. I think it's perfect to have that scent in a bath to get you ready for bed. As I've said before I don't particularly like lavender scents but this one is just the right amount that it's sweet but not overwhelming.

After crumbling the product under running water, it begins to turn the bath a lavender colour itself, but a really light pale kind which is really pretty. You don't have to use all of the product at once, I've only used half of it and it still produces a significant amount of bubbles. The product feels soothing on the skin and I would highly recommend any of the products that say that they help sleep, not only for that reason but also because they are so relaxing to have in a bath.

There are a few of the other Easter products that I've been looking at buying before they go out of stock but I love this one.

Has anyone tried this or any of Lush's other Easter range?

The Fall Favourites Tag

I know that fall has technically just ended but I love it so much and I love the idea of this tag that I couldn't not do it. To me fall and winter are almost the same month, they're both equally as cold and I just wear a lot of scarves and layers throughout either way so. I was tagged by the lovely Anna from thenewoldfashionedgirl.blogspot.com so go check out her blog and her answers to the tag, if you're fall obsessed like me. Anyway here's the questions and answers.

Favorite eye-makeup?
For Autumn my faves are obviously autumn themed colours. I love matte browns and sparkly golds. I also love wearing deep reds/burgandys, so so pretty for fall. My favourite Autumn palette has to be the Zoeva Cocoa Blends palette, literally the most perfect autumn palette you've ever seen. I've said autumn way too many times, I don't usually call it fall btw.

Favorite candles?

As much as I love candles I don't actually use them, yet. I do love all the christmassy scents Yankee candle bring out at this time of year, like christmas cookie, yummm.

Favorite Scents?

Again I'm not a very seasonal scent person I don't have a 'fall scent' I just love the smell of when it gets colder out, if that is even a thing? I also love the smell of a warm fire or a roast dinner.

Favorite Nail Polish?

I'm so bad at this, I'm not a nail varnish person because I bite my nails so much, it's awful. My fave nail varnishes are normally dark red or green Esscence ones though, I'm currently wearing a dark green/grey.

Favorite lip color?

Lip colour is my favourite thing about Autumn/Winter, I love dark lips so so much. My faves for Autumn are Rimmel London 107, when I can't decide on anything quickly. Also MAC Media and Revlon Black Cherry. They're so fab and really deep red with purple in them.

Favorite Halloween costume?

I'm not sure if it means one I've worn or in general, but my fave costume that I've worn is a pikachu one when I was about 6, I looked so cute. I really love the Harley Quinn outfits this year, although I know people hate them.

Favorite accessories?

A very cute beanie/bobble hat can't go amiss. Also I'm a huge wearer of scarves, especially patterned ones.

Favorite moments?

I don't think I have a very specific favourite moment I just love the whole atmosphere of fall. It's my birthday in the middle of October too so I always have things going on and stuff to look forward to.

Favorite drink?

It's got to be Pumpkin Spice Lattes, and this year its the Pumpkin Spice Frappicinos, so amazing. I also love the different variations of hot chocolate at this time of the year.

Favorite TV show?

This is usually the time of year where Doctor Who or Sherlock come back on the TV so there's always plently to watch. Yet right now I'm trying to get up to date with the Walking Dead and Vampire Diaries which are both back already, I'm so not gonna catch up.

What My Boyfriend Thinks Makeup Does

I've seen these type of posts floating around for a while and always found them so interesting and funny, so I thought I'd put my own boyfriend to the test and see how much he really knows about makeup. I think he's quite good at it as I talk about make up all the time yet he still gets quite confused. To test him I made him describe and explain a product of makeup and see what his answer is. I typed out his exact phrases and answers as he spoke them, so he didn't get a chance to change his mind, also I think it's funnier seeing him question himself. lets see how much he knows.

Primer - Do you put that on your face first? As a start in makeup, makes it stick better?

Tinted Moisturizer - Ohh, is it like fake tan except over time? But not like fake tan but like foundation that moisturizes your skin?

Blush - It makes you have rosy cheeks.

Highlight - You use it to like highlight your facial features like cheekbones and stuff.

Concealer - To cover up blemishes and spots and stuff.

Foundation - I don't know how to describe it. Used to make your skin tone brighter, and more suited to you and nicer.

Face Powder - Such an ambiguous name. It's powder for your face. It makes your skin softer and smooth.

Contour Kit - I know contouring is for like making your facial features stand out more like nose, chin cheekbones as well.

CC Cream - I'm gonna say that it gets rid of pores?

BB Cream - You put a small amount on your brush. It matches your foundation, moisturizes your skin and adds a tint of colour to your face.

Eye Shadow - You put it on your eyelids. Do you put it under your eyelids too? Probably. You match it to your other make up to make your eyes pop.

Eye Liner - It's like I don't know how to describe, like a black marker slash pen along your water line. Does it make your eyes stand out?

Mascara - You put that on your eyelashes to make them kinda look organised and neat.

Lipstick - You put it on your lips to match the rest of your makeup and to moisturize lips.

I also made him explain what certain brushes are for, just to make things more interesting and awkward. I used the Real Techniques brushes below in order for him to make a guess at. If you wanna see what the brushes really should be used for check here and compare his answers or even your own.

1. It's big. I'm gonna say foundation.
2. Is it bad I wanna say foundation again?
3. I'm gonna say eye shadow, it looks like an eye shadow one.
4. It can be used for putting on eyeliner in desperate times and eye shadow.
5. Literally would probably be eyeliner.
6. Foundation, it looks like foundation. But one only has BB Cream or something I don't know which one.
7. Is that the BB Cream one? If not it has to be foundation.

Overall I think he did a good job explaining them, I've definitely thought him well, a few of his answers definitely made me laugh though.
Hope you enjoyed this post as it's not something I've done before but it was fun to do. I love reading these posts so I hope you liked it too.

Let me know what you think of his answers and whether you'd put your partner to the test or not!

Dublin Comic Con 2016

This is another one of those posts that should've been up ages ago. I genuinely need to get back on track with blogging again as it's so easy to fall behind. Also going back to University soon means I really need to prepare and stay on top of blogging even more.
Anyway, since I'm sure everyone's sick of reading me apologizing for slow posts (and also no one cares except me) so, moving on; I attended Dublin Comic Con a few weeks back and thought it might be a good post for fellow nerds like me who might be interested in my experience.

Last year I went to the same convention, I have a post from last year here if you'd like to check it out too. They put it on in the Convention Centre and it's such a pretty building. If you've never seen it before it's a six or seven story building that has a huge glass side with such a pretty view over Dublin City centre. It also lights up so nice during the night, it's one of my favourite buildings to be in in the city.

I attended with my boyfriend and met up with some friends and family. There was only one talk I wanted to attend that was in the afternoon so we spend most of the morning exploring and checking out all the stalls, We bought the above Doctor Who artwork as we both fell in love with it. I love the idea of mixing David Bowie and Doctor Who together, it just works so well, plus the art is so good. I also got really tasty strawberries with chocolate and marshmallows, yum.
The Comic Con's in Ireland are no where near as big as the one's in America, no surprises there, so there's not much to do and not too many stars to see but there was a few guests that I really wanted to meet.

I met Michael Biehn who stars in the Terminator and Alien and also Robert Maschio who plays the Todd in Scrubs and they were both lovely. We got to talk to Robert for a little bit and bought an original script from him, how cool is that?
The main thing I went to comic con for was to see Jim Beaver, who plays Bobby Singer in Supernatural, which is like my favourite show ever. I went to his Q&A session and it was genuinely so funny. He's such a down to earth and funny guy, literally like he is in the show and I enjoyed listening to everything he had to say. That was the only talk I went to and I kind of wish I went to more. I didn't have the most eventful comic con experience but it's so much fun meeting and seeing people that you watch in shows and movies in real life surrounded by people who have similar interests.

Has anyone ever been to a Comic Convention before? Have you any cool experiences? I'd love to hear about them!
