Lush Marshmallow Bath Bomb | Review

Long time, no Lush review. I tried the Marshmallow World bath bomb twice and it's becoming a favourite of mine. This is one of the sweetest bath bombs out there so if you have a sweet tooth you'll love it. The main ingredient is sugar, also with vanilla and marshmallow powder (which I didn't know was a thing until now). It smells like it's straight out of a candy shop. It smells like a fizzy strawberry sweet and it is so refreshing and pleasant. It's also enjoyable to relax in because it's not an overwhelmingly strong scent. It's also one of the bigger bath bombs that Lush sells which is always a bonus.

Marshmallow World is mainly pink in composition, but also has streaks of white, blue and yellow. When dropped in water it fizzes and turns the bath a pretty pale pink colour. It then mixes with the colours that it is streaked with. These colours are all really pale shades and when they mix together they create some new colours that are even more vibrant. It has one of the prettiest end colours I've seen. As it's a bigger bath bomb it swirls around the tub for a long time and it's visually pleasant. I found that it foams really nicely while it fizzes also leaving a nice fluffy layer to the bath water.

Lush Haul | First Impressions

It's been a long time since I've done a Lush haul. I've been using up all the products that I've accumulated and don't get a chance to use so I have slowly depleted my collection. I ran out of bath bombs and bubble bars so I decided now is a good time to try some new Lush products that I hadn't tried before. It is definitely a different experience ordering from Lush online rather than being in store. Mainly due to the fact that you can't smell the products and you have to rely on the description. I picked up a few things that I thought I would enjoy, I bought three bath bombs, Marshmallow World, Strawberries and Cream (which I used before I took the pictures), and Dirty. Also, two bubble bars, Party Popper, and Abracadabra. I haven't tried all of these yet so they will just be first impressions.

Starting with bath bombs, Strawberries and Cream was the first one that I used as it smelled the best to me. It smelt as it is named, what I loved is that it was sweet but not a fake sugary sweet, but a gentle fresh kind of sweet. This bath bomb has a creamy middle and two crumbly sides that shape it like a strawberry. This is a very small bath bomb and the scent isn't over powering when dropped in the bath, but it does linger after on the skin for a few days which is really nice. It leaves the bath a mixture of red and pink.

The next one is Marshmallow World, which I have written a review about that will be up next week, as it is one of my favourites I've had in a long time. Intergalactic is still forever my favourite.

The last bath bomb is Dirty, and I am very disappointed with this bath bomb, the smell is not for me. I know it's based off the popular Dirty scent, but it is very musty and dry smelling. It is slightly citrus-y but not enough for me to enjoy it. I think I will like the colours when I use it in the bath as it is a multicolour of varying shades of green, blue, and yellow, and I think that they would blend well together. I hope that it surprises me but I'm not looking forward to using it. If I smelled it in person I know I wouldn't have gone for it so it could be a good thing to try something new. 

 

On to the bubble bars, the two that I picked I chose because they looked like a lot of fun. The first one is Party Popper, which is shaped like a party popper. The detailing on this is cute as it has flecks of colour underneath and I'm guessing through out also. It's a swirling of orange and yellow and it's definitely one of the more vibrant shades Lush has. I can't wait to try this one out and it smells great too, very bright and cheerful in scent and looks.

The last product that I purchased is the Abracadabra bubble bar, which is shaped like a magic wand. It's a very small and skinny bubble bar, with colourful stars at the end (I'm guessing to show the magic). I really like that this product smells very different to other products. It's very subtle for Lush products, it's very natural scented, almost like lavender and lemon but also smells bubbly (if that can be a scent). This won't last as long as other bubble bars but it is cheaper than a lot of others too so it might be a good option to try if you haven't tried any bubble bars before. Also looks like a lot of fun for kids to use.

Current Favourites | October 2019

I feel like my current favourites posts are always very random and they are really a mixture of things that really stand out on my everyday use. Which may or may not be interesting. I often find it interesting how we can use many items everyday for a long time and then suddenly its replaced with something else without even realising it. These are the current items that have stuck with me over the past month. 

I have been using Burberry Touch perfume every single day for the past month or so - although the funny thing is I didn't get it in recent months I forgot I had it and was delighted to rediscover it. I got this for a very good price in the airport on the way home from a holiday during the summer and I will definitely be repurchasing. I am awful at describing scents but the website describes it as fruity, floral and has a delicate nature. When someone recommends perfume I just assume its nice until I smell it so you should do the same.

The next item is a staple for many people - a Carmex lip-balm. I felt like I was the only person not to have tried one of these up until recently. The cold weather really took a toll on my lips and I had heard great things about Carmex. None of my other lip balms were doing the job at the time but ever since I have started using this I have had no problems with dry or dehydrated lips which is amazing. I would recommend picking one of these up for protection coming up to this cold winter months, it really does wonders.

The next product I've been using is Lush's No Drought dry shampoo. I feel like I may have written about this before but after using lots of dry shampoo over the last while with my busy schedule, nothing seemed to work but I remembered trying Lush's in the past and decided to give it another try. It is so much more natural looking and feeling than any other dry shampoo I have tried. The formula is a powder which you scrub into your scalp and it really fluffs up and makes your hair less greasy instantly. It also adds volume to the hair and you could easily do this for more than one day and your hair would be presentable and fresher than any other product. Plus the natural ingredients are so much better for your hairs health. It also smells really nice of grapefruit.

The last product I've been using a lot is a soap I picked up from a small shop I believe is called Bomb Cosmetics after a quick Google of the product. It's called the Tangerine Dream shower soap. Why this soap in particular is nice is that it is attached to a sponge so when used in water the top part mainly of sponge foams up and creates a really nice shower scrub. And because it is also a block of soap means there is less waste and you get a lot longer out of it over many uses. I had never seen anything like this so I thought it was pretty cool. Plus the orange smell is amazing and fresh.

Lush Haul | September 2018

It's no secret I love Lush and I ran out of a lot of products recently, and I use a lot, so a haul was something that was so needed. I run out of bath bombs a lot quicker than other things because you obviously use them all in one go but I did pick up a few new pieces and older favourites, I am putting some of the products that I've never tried before in a separate post to do a better review of them, but here is the bulk of what I bought. I didn't buy this stuff before the new Halloween stuff arrived in store either, but I do know I will be picking some of those up too.

The first thing that I picked up was my favourite bath bomb of all time, Intergalactic. This has been my favourite for about two years and no other bath bomb has topped it yet. I love the mint smell and how relaxing and bright it is. I love watching the colours swirl in the bath and the colour that it leaves the bath with is amazing, and watching the glitter float around it is so pretty.

The next product is the classic Charity Pot, I have gone through so many pots of this stuff. It's super moisturizing, not sticky, soft and smooth on the skin. The best part about this product is that they donate the money from purchasing (minus tax) to charities that are on the packaging.

The next thing I purchased is Scrubee, which is a packaging free body scrub. This is so soft due to the shea butter and exfoliating scrub within leaves skin fresh and new feeling. This is my favourite scrub that I have tried from Lush, I also really like scrub scrub scrub, and I know that they have released some new ones recently that I need to also try.

The last thing I purchased is the Think Pink bath bomb, this bath bomb smells really sweet with vanilla undertones, and I love how vibrant it is. It is also a very glittery bath bomb and it's a wonderful colour in the bath, perfect for when the days are looking a little more dull.

The Body Shop Virgin Mohito Body Scrub | Review

If you've read my blog for a while you'll know that I am very interested in vegan and cruelty free products and brands and the Body Shop is one of my favourites and recently I've been trying to only buy cruelty free and vegan products as I am vegetarian. I decided to take a trip to the Body Shop and treat myself and I bought the Virgin Mojito body scrub, which smells like lime and mint. I don't normally like scents like this but I fell in love with the scent when I smelled it, it's so fresh and citrus-y and probably now my favourite body scrub scent I own. 

The texture of the product is jelly like but soft, and it contains micro beads which burst on the skin and add some extra texture and scrub on the skin. The size of the product is good and is going to last a long time and I love the feeling of freshness that it leaves on the skin.

I would consider getting this product again or even the same one in a different scent.

Lush Turtle Bath Bomb | Review

It's been a while since I've tried a new Lush bath bomb. I bought the new Turtle Bath bomb recently and forgot that I had it for a few weeks. I loved the idea of it, and it promotes the threat of plastic in our oceans, and the threat that it causes to our marine life. Turtles think that the plastic floating in our oceans are small fish and jellyfish that they can eat and it can suffocate them and harm them. It's a serious problem and we all really need to think a lot about how much unnecessary plastic we use and how we can reduce it in our daily life. 

When I went to use it I realised that there was some sort of mould or discoloring and I assume it was the way that I was storing it and it probably means that it should be used sooner after purchase rather than later. It says online that the bath bomb is a jelly bath bomb but the one I had did not feel like a jelly bath bomb compared to the other ones that I've tried from Lush. It has a very natural and earthy scent, that I liked originally but after smelling it a few times it smelled a little too over powering for me. The shape of it is very cute as always Lush makes their bath bombs look great before and after put in the water.

   

After placing the bath bomb in the water it fizzed up completely very quickly and I did like the colours that it produced they're very like the ocean and the earth blending together in a mixture of blue and green swirling shades. The scent faded quickly after dissolving which I didn't mind as I began to dislike it.

    

Overall I was glad I tried this bath bomb and I love the idea behind it and the subjects that it promotes but the bath bomb itself was disappointing and not my favourite, I probably wouldn't purchase it again but if you're a Lush fan I would try it yourself to make up your own mind on it, as although I disliked it, I still think it's a nice product, as Lush product always are.

Easter Lush April Showers Bath Bomb | Review

I review the Baa Bar from Lush's Easter range not expecting to have more Easter Products to review but I couldn't say no in my recent trip to the April Shower's bath bomb. Everything in this range has just been so cute. Every time I say the name of this bath bomb I start to sing that song of the the same name from Bambi, anyone else? 

This bath bomb is shaped like a cloud with little pink and purple rain drops in it. This bath bomb doesn't have a very strong scent, I don't know how to describe it, it's said to have violet leaf, cypress oil and cedarwood oil, it's very calming and if it's not weird I think they may have tried to make it mimic the smell of rain, obviously its more floral but soothing.

I thought that it might not be a colourful bath bomb as it's really white with not much more colour in it, but as it melts the coloured rain drops begin to swirl in together and make the bath pastel coloured. The bath bomb moves a lot around the bath tub, and dissolved faster than a lot of other bath bombs out there. I really like the combination of the pink, purple and white. It's really pretty watching them swirl into each other and the bath is left a subtle purple colour after. I think it's a really cute spring product. The bubbles in the bath tub are made from Zoella's Snow Scoop bubble bath, which is not in stock any more but the Scooper Dooper bubble bath is a similar product, it makes really good bubbles.

I really love all the Easter and Spring Lush range. Has anyone tried any of these new products yet? What do you think?

Easter Lush Baa Bar | Review

It obviously wouldn't be my blog if I didn't review one of Lush's holiday type products for each season. I try not to go crazy and buy too much, as I would buy them all if I could. I try to pick the products that I think I'd like the best to try out and I'm usually right in my choices. This time, for Easter, I've chosen the Baa Bar, because I love sheep and I think it's so cute. How could you not buy this?

This bubble bar is shaped like a sheep, it has a white body and a purple face. I thought it was going to be white throughout the whole body but it's actually the same colour as the purple head on the inside. This smells a lot like Sleepy, which I have reviewed on my blog recently, and it contains the same lavender and soothing qualities it does to help you sleep. I think it's perfect to have that scent in a bath to get you ready for bed. As I've said before I don't particularly like lavender scents but this one is just the right amount that it's sweet but not overwhelming.

After crumbling the product under running water, it begins to turn the bath a lavender colour itself, but a really light pale kind which is really pretty. You don't have to use all of the product at once, I've only used half of it and it still produces a significant amount of bubbles. The product feels soothing on the skin and I would highly recommend any of the products that say that they help sleep, not only for that reason but also because they are so relaxing to have in a bath.

There are a few of the other Easter products that I've been looking at buying before they go out of stock but I love this one.

Lush Sleepy | Review

This Lush product has been so popular over the past year or so that at times it has been so hard to get. It's popular due to a blog post which stated that Sleepy helped them sleep at night, and it was sold out in shops near me for months, and I was dying to try it. I'm a huge fan of Lush's body lotions, there's something so soothing and moisturizing about them. This is definitely one of my faves. 

Now I'm not a massive fan of lavender, I find the scent overpowering a lot of the time. Yet with Sleepy, I feel like the lavender is just the right amount and it's a scent that I actually like. Lush has a whole range of product's scented like this, all based off the Twilight bath bomb, which is great for a soothing and relaxing bath. I personally don't think this product helps me sleep but I do think the scent has relaxing qualities to it that can add to it. The product is creamy and easy to lather and smooth into your skin, leaving it soft with a gentle lavender scent. 

   

It's no wonder that this product is popular and I know that I'll be repurchasing again in the future.

The Body Shop Shea Collection

If you've followed me for a while, you'll know that I really like the Body Shop products and I'm slowly trying them all out. I prefer the Body Shops shower products a little more than Lush's, although I prefer Lush's bath and skin products, of which I review way too much of. Over the past few moths I've gathered a collection of Body Shop products, all of which smell divine. The Shea collection is one that has a very subtle scent compared to the other products, but it smells really nice for showering as it's not as overpowering as the rest. I think it also makes a good gift choice because of that, as more people would like the scent. Here's a few of the products I have from this range. 

My favourite of the Shea Products is the Shea shower cream, I love using these in the shower as they foam up very well and a little product goes a long way and you get so much out of a bottle. The Shea scent isn't overpowering but it smells very fresh and clean which is something you'd want.
I also love the Shea soap, you can't really go wrong with a bar of soap, although I wouldn't use it in the shower it's great for leaving in your bathroom for hand washing, and it also leaves the same fresh scent lingering in the room.
The next product is the Shea body butter, which is my least favourite. I prefer in shower body butters as I find other ones a little bit more sticky and slimy. This isn't very interesting, although I find it moisturizing, it's not my favourite body butter to go for, yet it's very good quality.
The last product is the Shea body scrub, which I prefer to the body butter. It contains salt to exfoliate your skin and it also moisturizes which is like a two in one product, it also doesn't leave your skin sticky which is something I look for in a product.

This scent range is one of my favourites due to being so subtle, which means it's harder to feel sickened or tired by an overpowering scent, which makes it one of my favourites, almost like a classic scent.

Lush Love Boat Bath Bomb | Review

Every time Lush releases new products I feel like they just get better and better. When they released their new valentines range I wasn't sure which one to get but after seeing them in person I fell in love with the Love Boat bath bomb. The bath bomb smells of citrus and also has a floral scent which is just so springy and different from their other products and the Christmas ones that were just out.

   

The bath bomb is like its name and it's in the shape of a boat. It has pastel colours on it, blue, pink and yellow at the bottom and it has a love heart at the front of the boat. If you hold the boat in a certain way when you're putting it in the water, it will float around like a boat, you can see in my photos I failed in doing so. If you hold the bottom bit in for a while until it starts fizzing a little bit and let go, it can float, you might need some practice as mine was falling backwards too much but not bad for a first attempt. It melts and fizzes in a pastel blue and pink and as the bottom melts a yellow fizzes into the mixture. The colours are so pretty together and the scent is so fresh and bright, if you can call a scent bright. When it finishes fizzing and the colours settle it turns the bath a rose red colour which is also very pretty.

Zoella Treasure Me Gift Collection | What's Inside

Around Christmas, I know it's still so early, I love getting big bath sets of a range of different products and I also love giving them. If you don't already know for the past year or so Zoella releases a Christmas range with really cute gift sets. I didn't actually get one last year, I had enough stuff without it. I thought it would be a good idea to show what's inside the Zoella Treasure Me gift box to give an idea if anyone else would like to buy it themselves or for someone else. i find with stuff like this sometimes it's hard to tell if you're getting your money/value worth or not. 

The gift comes in a rather hefty and large box, with very pretty rose gold detailing and includes eight products. It's currently on sale in Superdrug so you can get it for even better value. For the sheer amount that you get I don't think it's bad value compared to some of the other sets, but you definetly need to have a lot of baths to get use out of it all.

When opened all the products come individually wrapped and it does seem disappointing seeing how much bigger the box is compared to everything inside, although the box can be reused, which I will be doing so it's not all a waste. 

The first product you get is the Snow Fresh body wash, the scent is really floral and fresh with a hint of mint, and I think all the products have a similar scent. It's quite misty and shiny and it's a little bit sticky but I think it will leave a nice shine on your skin, you can't really go wrong with that. 

The next product is the Winter Wonder hand cream, I don't really use hand cream but I know a lot of people do. This packaging is possibly my favourite, the shape of the bottle and the rose gold colouring just look really pretty. The texture is really watery which I don't like and your hands feel wet even after a few minutes, but I do love the smell it leaves behind.

The Splash of Milk bath powder is something that I think is really interesting. You get two sachets in the box and you pour one into your bath which then turns your bath milky and it's meant to me moisturizing and soft, kind of like a Lush bath oil.

You then get a Snow Silky body lotion, I've previously tried Zoella body lotions and I do like them, but I think they take a long time to soak in completely, and the scent is never as strong as I would like it to be. 

You also get a Snow Polished body polish, and I'm not too sure how different the two products are. I think they're both similar in use but with the body polish its like an in shower body lotion, you rub it into your skin with water and watch it lather, which is something I prefer than a regular lotion. 

The next thing is the Snow Smooth body butter. I don't really like this body butter as it feels quite plastic-y and hasn't got much of a scent, it's probably my least favourite product from the bunch. 

You also get one of those loofahs, I'm not really sure what to call them and I didn't really understand their use until recently and I really love them now. This one is white with baby pink around the edges which is cute. 

The last product you get is the Snow Scoop bubble bath. This is one of my favourite things, I love a good bubble bath. The tub is also very cute, you scoop some of the product out with your hand and swish it under running water to produce bubbles, I think it's really cute.

Overall I think this is the best Zoella gift set you can buy. You get a lot of products for your money and it would be much more expensive to buy them all separately. Although there is a few products that I wouldn't use out of it I do like the majority and it makes a really good present.

Metamorphosis Lush Bath Bomb | Review

It's been a long time since I've gone into Lush and actually bought a new bath bomb. I don't have a lot of baths anymore but I know coming into winter there's going to be a lot more time for them. I'd seen all the new bath bombs on Lush's social media and I've been meaning to go in and buy one for a while. I picked up Metamorphosis as I really liked the name and how plain the bath bomb is on the outside. Yet, hence the name there is obviously more to the bath bomb than first perceptions.

To me, on the outside the bath bomb looks a bit like a pine cone with the same consistency, I know I'm awful at comparisons. It's very coarse and rough and smells spicy, but not overwhelming. I'm not too sure if it's meant to look like something or not but maybe it is meant to be some sort of shell of some sort for the metamorphosis to take place.

Once dropped into the bath it fizzes instantly int a dark and swirling black hole, leaving the bath a grey and murky colour, not the most appealing bath I must say.

As it fizzes after a minute or two you begin to notice colours start to fizz out and the metamorphosis begin. The colours turn from grey to yellow, then pink, and orange making your bath more colourful than expected. The bright colours clash with the dullness that was perviously there and I like the idea. It doesn't add that much colour overall into your bath though as eventually it all fades back into the murky swampy grey, so the colours don't last too long. I'd say this bath bomb would be a perfect bath bomb for children as they wouldn't be expecting the colours in the middle.

It's not my favourite Lush bath bomb as it doesn't have the strongest or nicest smell but I like the concept and the name but I don't think I'd use it again unless it was a gift as it left my bath a little grey-er than it was before.
