Pastel Goth Kat Von D | Palette Review

It's my first post back and I have a lot of products that I have tried over the past year that I have been AWOL. The palette that I have used the most recently is Kat Von D's Pastel Goth palette. When trying to link this product it seems that it has been discontinued on Kat Von D's website -  but is still available on a few others. I was really drawn to this palette as every single colour in the palette was a shade that I did not already own. Being pastel and rainbow coloured was really appealing for me as I was trying to expand on my makeup skills and looks and therefore this palette was an instant hit. Although I wasn't anticipating to wear it as frequent as any other neutral shade palette I own.

There are only eight shades in this palette which makes it quite small - yet each shade is very different from the next which gives it extra versatility. The shades are all pastel versions of the colours mainly found in a rainbow. As they are pastel I assumed they would be slightly muted in colour - yet was I extremely wrong. The colour pay-off of these shades is amazing. The consistency is very chalk like which is a little strange but it really allows the colours to stand out when applied. If using this palette using Skull - the white shade as a base is also a good idea for giving stronger colour pay-off for the other colours. The weird thing about this palette is that I'm using shades like green and blue like they were a casual brown or beige and I'm loving it. My most used and favourite shades are Star, Clementine and Meow (the first three shades) as wearing them all together makes a really beautiful sunset eye.

The below swatches are of the palette in order - although the quality of the picture is not the best. You can see in the picture that the shades are very chalky and look subtle but vibrant in shade. They look so much better on the eyes than on my arm I can confirm. This is the first Kat Von D palette I own and the quality is definitely worth investing in. Her products are all cruelty free and vegan which makes it much more appealing to me also.

If anyone has any suggestions on which colour combinations I should try please comment below! And if anyone has tried this palette before what are your opinions?

Sephora Haul

You might live somewhere with easy access to a Sephora store, but where I live there isn't one in the entire country so it is very exciting to see a Sephora store when I'm travelling. I know that there are a lot of brands in the store that I can get online or elsewhere at home but there's something so exciting about being in the store which makes you want to buy it all, which is dangerous for my bank account, so naturally I did a little haul.

The first thing I picked up and got very excited about is the Sephora Radiance Cleansing Foam. I love a product that foams up when you use it, I'm not sure why it's just so fun. You pump a little bit of this product onto your face and rub it in and it's so soft and cleansing on your skin. After you wash it off your skin feels so soft and smooth, I will definitely be repurchasing this after I finish this bottle.

The next product that I purchased is the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray, and I have heard a lot of good reviews on this product that I thought I would treat myself to it especially as the weather is getting so warm at the moment. I think that it does a really good job controlling the oil and making my makeup stay in one place all day, it's quite refreshing and does what it's supposed to do. The thing I really dislike about it is the smell of the product itself. It's really strong and I hate it, even though I know you shouldn't be inhaling it so it's not the worst problem.

The last thing that I got was the Kat Von D Lolita Lip Duo. I'm a sucker for mini lipsticks anyway and I've been looking into buying these colours for a while so I needed this duo set. I really love the Kat Von D liquid lipsticks as they last so long and the shades are all so beautiful. These colours are very similar to each other, and they are variations of each other, the shades Lolita and Lolita II and the only difference is that one is a darker version of the other but they are both so beautiful on and they're going to be a staple makeup piece for me for sure.

The swatches are of Lolita and Lolita II.

Does anyone else love visiting Sephora? Have you tried any of these products before?

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks | Review

Okay so I've been after these liquid lipsticks, and just anything Kat Von D for ages, after I heard they were coming to Ireland I was delighted as they are a vegan brand, which I am all for. I had heard a lot of wonderful things about all the products, but most of all the Everlasting liquid lipsticks. They're quite expense, working out at about twenty euro each, which is quite steep in my opinion, but at the same time the quality and longevity you get out of them makes up for it. I think they're the prefect thing to treat yourself with or even to gift someone.

The shades that I wear most are mainly nudes, brown nudes and pink/purple tone nudes. When it comes to liquid lipsticks I love simple but pretty, especially because of how hard they are to get off, wearing something crazy isn't always the best idea. But if wilder shades are what you're into there are some really pretty blues and reds in this collection that I would love to be able to pull off.

The shades that I have are Plath and Hawkwind. These shades are both very similar in terms of how they look in the tube, yet on my lips they are very different. In the swatches and tube Plath looks much darker than Hawkwind, yet they are the opposite when I wear them. Plath is a deep russet red, but when on, I think it is a very deep red with brown undertones. Hawkwind is probably my favourite out of the two and is described as a nude sienna, on the lips it is a dark nude brown, which isn't as dark as it seems it would be. They're both dark lipsticks in general though.

The consistency of the lipsticks is very nice, with a very smooth and easily applicable formula. The colour dries almost instantly on your lips, so you need to be careful, yet the formula is not drying at all and it doesn't dry out during the day either. I think that it is the longest lasting lipstick I've ever tried and it would last the whole day with one application, although it would rub off a bit and fade, a lighter version of it remains, which is still very nice. Even when I'm taking off my make up I find that this lipstick just doesn't want to budge off my lips, it takes a lot of effort to wipe it all off.

Overall, these are worth the price that you pay, they're all beautiful shades, good quality, good colour payout and longevity. I would highly recommend these and will definitely be starting a collection

Has anyone else tried these or any other Kat Von D products?
