Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks | Review

Okay so I've been after these liquid lipsticks, and just anything Kat Von D for ages, after I heard they were coming to Ireland I was delighted as they are a vegan brand, which I am all for. I had heard a lot of wonderful things about all the products, but most of all the Everlasting liquid lipsticks. They're quite expense, working out at about twenty euro each, which is quite steep in my opinion, but at the same time the quality and longevity you get out of them makes up for it. I think they're the prefect thing to treat yourself with or even to gift someone.

The shades that I wear most are mainly nudes, brown nudes and pink/purple tone nudes. When it comes to liquid lipsticks I love simple but pretty, especially because of how hard they are to get off, wearing something crazy isn't always the best idea. But if wilder shades are what you're into there are some really pretty blues and reds in this collection that I would love to be able to pull off.

The shades that I have are Plath and Hawkwind. These shades are both very similar in terms of how they look in the tube, yet on my lips they are very different. In the swatches and tube Plath looks much darker than Hawkwind, yet they are the opposite when I wear them. Plath is a deep russet red, but when on, I think it is a very deep red with brown undertones. Hawkwind is probably my favourite out of the two and is described as a nude sienna, on the lips it is a dark nude brown, which isn't as dark as it seems it would be. They're both dark lipsticks in general though.

The consistency of the lipsticks is very nice, with a very smooth and easily applicable formula. The colour dries almost instantly on your lips, so you need to be careful, yet the formula is not drying at all and it doesn't dry out during the day either. I think that it is the longest lasting lipstick I've ever tried and it would last the whole day with one application, although it would rub off a bit and fade, a lighter version of it remains, which is still very nice. Even when I'm taking off my make up I find that this lipstick just doesn't want to budge off my lips, it takes a lot of effort to wipe it all off.

(The above swatches are of Hawkwind and Plath)

Overall, these are worth the price that you pay, they're all beautiful shades, good quality, good colour payout and longevity. I would highly recommend these and will definitely be starting a collection

Has anyone else tried these or any other Kat Von D products?

Mini Nude Lipstick Haul

Recently I've been obsessed with nude lips and lipsticks. I think it's because I've been watching too much of the Kardashians and loving Kylie's lip colours, especially the nudes from her own band, which I unfortunately don't have. I have a wide range of darker and more red and berry toned lipsticks and less of the nudes and pinks so I thought I should start collecting some as they're all I look at when I'm looking through the aisles of make up brands. I've picked up three lipsticks over the past month that I've been absolutely loving.

This is my most recent purchase and it's so hard to find NYX in all drug stores. Luckily there's a chemist near my Uni that sells them, even though there's a small range it's better than nothing. I originally went in browsing for the NYX Lingerie range but they had none so I began swatching other lipsticks instead. Stone is a really light nude brown that just darkens and enhances the natural lips when applied. I love the subtlety of it and how nude it is. The packaging is so cute as the tube is skinnier than most other lipsticks and it's so much handier to carry around in your bag, plus the application is super easy.

Technically this is a lipgloss but I'd consider it a lipstick. I love Essence for their good quality and affordable makeup. Since liquid lipsticks and matte lips have become a trend I've been obsessed with finding a good matte liquid lipstick. I picked this one up and fell in love with the colour and the application. The applicator is easy to use and the formula doesn't leave your lips feeling dry even though it's a matte lip product. Although it does take a while to dry completely it feels completely weightless on the lips which I love.

The last lipstick of the post is probably my favourite, it's like a mixture of the two above lipsticks. It's a dark nude pink with a tinge of brown and I love the colour. It's a colour that goes with everything and suits every make up look. The packaging lid comes in the colour of the lipstick which is very aesthetically pleasing. I don't think this lipstick is meant to be a matte but it drys almost like a matte lip which I love and it applies so well and doesn't leave my lips sticky or dried out. Definitely one of my top lipsticks and I think it's very similar to MAC's Brave lipstick.

(The above swatches are in order Maybelline Velvet Beige, NYX Stone and Essence Soft Nude)

What's everyone else's favourite nude Lipsticks and have you tried any of these before?

Mini Rimmel London Haul

Rimmel London is one of my favourite brands ever, it might be because of the Kate Moss lipsticks but I love all their stuff. I bought a few products of theirs the other day because they were doing a buy one get one half price offer.

  • First of all I picked up a new Rimmel Kate Moss Nude Collection lipstick. Of course they were sold out in the shops and if there was some left they were either broken or didn't have any choice. This was the only shade they had in stock, but I like brown lipsticks anyway so it doesn't bother me much. It's number 48 and the nude packaging is so pretty.
  • Since they didn't have any choice in the nude lipsticks I bought another normal Kate Moss lipstick for the sake of it. I got this in the shade 16 which actually turned out to be pretty nude despite the vibrant pinkness of it. It brightens up my lips a bit but not as much as I thought it would which is actually a good thing because pink lipsticks don't really suit me.
  • The next thing I bought was the Clear Complexion Clarifying Powder. I needed a new powder and saw that this one has natural minerals in it compared to my last one. So I was thinking it's better for my skin as my skin isn't the best lately.
  • The last thing I bought was the Brow This Way eyebrow kit. As I don't have that many eyebrow products I don't know what I like yet. I tried the gel on this and it was nice the first time I tried it but after that it just looked to dark and greasy so right now the powder side is working for me more. Plus the little brushes in it are so cute, typical statement of me.
Anyone else a big fan of Rimmels products and which ones?

My Favourite Lipsticks: Rimmel London Kate Moss Collection

Whenever I need a new lipstick I always go to the same brand, Rimmel London. I have no idea why or how I got hooked on that exact one but I think they are just wonderful. I'm sure when I can afford more expensive lipsticks I'll love them, but this make up for me has always been cheap and cheerful. Rimmel London have such great products for cheap enough so I don't always see why I should spend an extra 20 euro on another product that does the same thing just as well, unless I was feeling adventurous of course.

Their lipsticks are long lasting, pigmented and they have a great range of choice in their lipstick collections and colour choices. Out of all the Rimmel Lipsticks I've had, the Kate Moss collection is my favourite by far.

From the pictures above;
  • The first one is in the shade 01.
  • Second is in the shade 02.
  • The third is in the shade 107.
  • Finally the last is in the shade 08.
The shade 08 and 107 are my favourite lipsticks ever. Number 08 is my go to lipstick for every day wear. It's basically the same colour as my lips only a little darker which gives them a bit more life and colour, while looking natural at the same time. My favourite thing about it is the fact that it could fade over time and not look tacky because it won't leave fade marks in the middle because it just looks like my actual lips.
I was in Boots today and saw that the Kate Moss Collection had released new nude colours similar to this shade. I'll most likely get some and blog about them another time because they look perfect for me.
Number 107 is my favourite lipstick to put on if I'm going out. It's the perfect blend of red and purple dark lipstick tones. It matches every outfit and I think it really suits me and most people I've seen wear it.

The swatches above are in the same order as the lipsticks I've named above.
The other two shades I own I don't wear as often. Number 01 is a perfect red colour which is really flattering and 02 comes out a vibrant pink colour which I don't think really suits me but I might try and pull it off again soon.

I'll probably own every shade in this collection soon enough because they just sit so well and all the colours are just the ones I want.

Does anyone else own any lipsticks in this collection or have tried them before?
