Cedar & Stone Room Spray | Review

I really didn't need this product as it wasn't something that I was looking for per-say but having a read of the packaging intrigued me. It's the Cedar & Stone Room Mists. I found them in TK Maxx (TJ Maxx in other countries) so they were much cheaper than what they retail for. After a quick browse of the brands website I can tell that they're very high quality products and seem to get good reviews. I decided to purchase these so that I could add them to my morning and night routine. I see many people and posts always discussing makeup and skincare routines for the day - but never routines that focus on looking after the body and mind. I thought these would be a good idea to spray and keep the room relaxing and peaceful to wind down and wake up everyday.

The first spray is the night room mist. This smells of lavender and yarrow, and it is very relaxing. The instructions state that after spraying one should breath it in for seven seconds to become calm and relaxed and to help get a good and deep nights sleep. I have to say that it does work and helps my mind relax and I tend to have a good nights sleep after using this. It's also nice to use for yoga to get into a calm mind frame. It's a very subtle scent but smells nice.

The next spray in the set is the counterpart - a morning spray. It smells like echinacea and lemon. It's very sweet and also bitter. The instructions say to spray at any time to relax. It does have a different relaxing smell than the other spray - and this one is very fresh so it does help the body relax and wake up for the day. Plus who doesn't like their room smelling nice and fresh all day long.

It's a very simple thing to be surrounded by calming and relaxing scents but it's a nice thing to add to a morning and night routine to help relax especially with the busy schedules most people have in their lives. Has anyone tried anything like this before or have any that they'd recommend?

Current Hair Products & Routine

While I like to use products to make my hair feel and look nice, I don't think I use a lot when it comes down to comparison with other people. I'm very minimal with my hair care, and my hair generally is good with doing what I want it to do. My natural hair is slightly waving which makes it easy to straighten and curl. It's also a dyed blonde now, which means I have to put a little more care into looking after it than I would if I was still my natural brown, to maintain colour and softness. The products I'll be discussing are what I use all the time to keep my hair daily, while I use other conditioners too, they change regularly, but these are the products that I've been using constantly for a while.

The first product is usually what I use first in my shower routine, it's the Lee Stafford Bleach Blondes Shampoo. Purple Shampoo is good for dyed blonde hair as it enhances the colour of it and gets rid of brassy undertones and helps it glow and shine even more. I use a handful of this to help my colour stay and last even longer, I know that there is a conditioner to go with this but I feel like using both might make my hair feel like it has more chemicals in it, even though it's bleached, so using a natural conditioner with this helps my hair get a break from that. The size of this product is really good, and depending on how often you use it you can get a good while out of it. It definitely does the job and doesn't dry out my hair, while helping it stay blonde.

I didn't include my other in shower products as I thought there would be too many so I've decided to do another post in the future. The products that are next in my routine come after my shower before I dry my hair. I use the TRESemme heat defense spray, this is my favourite heat protector as I love the smell of it and I feel like it does a good job. I think it's important to use heat protector if you put a lot of heated products on your hair as it does a lot more damage than you may think, I definitely notice a difference when I use it, my hair feels softer and less coarse.

The John Frieda Go Blonder Controlled Lightening Spray is something that I don't use every time I shower as it contains a lot of bleaching qualities to obtain its lightening. This product gradually lightens your hair, I find that like the purple shampoo, if you're blonde and really want to go a little lighter this is perfect. You spray this on wet hair and dry it and gradually after a few weeks your hair becomes brighter. The only thing with this is that you need to be careful with how much and where you're spraying it because you can make really light patches in your hair so you need to spray from as far away as you can. I think this is great for blondes who want to go lighter without psychically dying their hair.

The last product that I like to use is the Mark Hill Miracoilous Moroccan Argan Oil. I hate the feeling of argan oil, but I know that it does wonders for your hair. You rub a tiny bit of this product in between your hands to warm it up then spread it into wet hair. It leaves your hair silky smooth and shiny when dry and its super hydrating.

Does anyone use any of these products or have any suggestions that I can add into my routine?

Pamper Night and Self Care Ideas

If you're anything like me, this time of year is a time where you want to feel cosy all the time. With the cold weather and the intensity of college life, self care is very important. I'll admit I'm not the best at it but I do love a good pamper night now and then to look after myself and de-stress. I thought I'd share some of my favourite things to do on a pamper night.

(Some of my favourite pamper and relaxing things at the moment.)

Bath
My number one thing to do when I have some time to myself is to run a bath. My favourite kind being a Lush bath, I normally add my favorite bubble bar and bath bomb to relax. For extra relaxation is to add candles and your favouite hot drink, which is perfect for Autumn.

Netflix
Another thing I do either after a bath or even just before bed is to put something on on Netflix and just chill and watch something good. I'm still watching my fave Gilmore Girls at the moment, and also starting to watch Riverdale again.

Mindfulness
A thing that is often looked over on pamper nights is to take time to think about your feelings and give your mind some rest. A perfect way to do this is to try to meditate or do some yoga, which is personally my favourite, it's good for your body and your mind. It leaves you with a clearer mind and more relaxeed body

Body Love
Looking after your body and your hair and skin is something that I think is very important. It goes without saying that usually when you feel like you look your best, you feel your best, well that's what happens with me anyway. So when I have time to pamper myself I take the time to look after my skin, hair and nails. I apply my favourite moisturizers for my skin to revive itself and take in all the nutrients it needs as a pick me up, especially in winter. I also find that putting a fresh coat of nail varnish on is another simple way to look after yourself, as I always pick chipped nail varnish. I also think a face-mask is perfect when your have extra time to treat your skin, Lush is very preferable.

Another thing that I think sometimes you forget is part of a pamper routine is to look after your hair, especially maintaining your hair colour, if your like me and have your dark roots always making an appearance. I recently learned about eSalon and their customised hair colour, which you can check out here. What I love about this is that it's customised and personalised to your hair colour and history, which means your hair will be looking its best. Also for October for Breast Cancer Awareness month, they have created a #SpreadHope campaign with Cancer Care where every purchase made goes to help someone affected by cancer, which is amazing. You can also check this out here. They've also constructed their own list of pamper night ideas that I totally agree with, and basically follow anyway.

Books
Being an English student, I obviously love to read, but I often find that reading before bed is also a great way to wind down and escape the real world. The one I have started recently is All That She Can See by Carrie Hope Fletcher, pictured above. It's also great to put on your coziest PJ's and wrapping yourself up in piles of blankets.

What do you think of my pamper night ideas? What else do you do to pamper yourself?
