Current Favourites 2021 Beginning

It's been a while since I've done a favourites post. It's mainly because my favourites don't change very often and I don't try a lot of new things if I have some things left to use. Being still in lockdown and it being so cold outside I tend to use a lot more products during this time of the year. The next few things I will discuss are items I've been getting a lot of use out of and would recommend.

The first item I have been using a lot is the Body Shop Vitamin C Skin Boost, this is enriched with vitamin C which comes from oranges. This is to help brighten the skin and help it glow. I really love this it really smooths out the skin and makes it feel really soft. It works really well as a primer and a base for makeup and also just for keeping the skin moisturised with something a little more beneficial for the skin. It feels really natural and enhances the skins natural radiance.

There's a few things from the Body Shop on this list so I may as well go through them all at once. The next thing is similar. It's the Body Shop sheet face masks. I've used a few recently but the one pictured is the Body Shop Vitamin E Quench Sheet face mask. These are super hydrating and perfect for a pamper session. These leave your skin feeling super soft and looking so clean. These actually clear blemishes really well by helping reduce their redness and size. The masks themselves are super moist and are a little uncomfortable to put on at first but they become relaxing very quickly. They're a little expensive for a single use mask but are nice for a treat for the skin every now and then.

The last thing from the Body Shop is something I feel like pops up in my favourites this time every year. It's the Body Shop hand cream in Pink Grapefruit - it comes in many scents. This is the best scent by far its super fresh and citrus-y. I believe they have these hand creams in every body shop scent. They are really moisturising and I feel like they really combat dry skin and help heal patches of it while keeping the rest soft.

The next is a recent purchase, the Rituals Ritual of Sakura body and hair mist spray. This has a very pleasant and fresh scent, smelling of cherry blossom and rice milk. This leaves you smelling like you just came out of a bath and smells so clean. It's a very spring scent but it leaves a nice calming and relaxing feeling. I haven't tried anything from Rituals before but it seems like a really nice brand to give a closer look to.

The last item is something I rave about consistently. It's a classic Carmex lipbalm. These are the best thing for dry lips or just keeping your lips generally hydrated. It's something I can't leave the house without at this time of year and keep it in my pocket at all times it also makes a nice base under a lipstick to keep damage from the products and the weather off your lips.

What's everyone else's favourites from this month or recently?

Cedar & Stone Room Spray | Review

I really didn't need this product as it wasn't something that I was looking for per-say but having a read of the packaging intrigued me. It's the Cedar & Stone Room Mists. I found them in TK Maxx (TJ Maxx in other countries) so they were much cheaper than what they retail for. After a quick browse of the brands website I can tell that they're very high quality products and seem to get good reviews. I decided to purchase these so that I could add them to my morning and night routine. I see many people and posts always discussing makeup and skincare routines for the day - but never routines that focus on looking after the body and mind. I thought these would be a good idea to spray and keep the room relaxing and peaceful to wind down and wake up everyday.

The first spray is the night room mist. This smells of lavender and yarrow, and it is very relaxing. The instructions state that after spraying one should breath it in for seven seconds to become calm and relaxed and to help get a good and deep nights sleep. I have to say that it does work and helps my mind relax and I tend to have a good nights sleep after using this. It's also nice to use for yoga to get into a calm mind frame. It's a very subtle scent but smells nice.

The next spray in the set is the counterpart - a morning spray. It smells like echinacea and lemon. It's very sweet and also bitter. The instructions say to spray at any time to relax. It does have a different relaxing smell than the other spray - and this one is very fresh so it does help the body relax and wake up for the day. Plus who doesn't like their room smelling nice and fresh all day long.

It's a very simple thing to be surrounded by calming and relaxing scents but it's a nice thing to add to a morning and night routine to help relax especially with the busy schedules most people have in their lives. Has anyone tried anything like this before or have any that they'd recommend?

Lush Lava Lamp Bath Bomb | Review

It's been a long time since I've bought a new Lush bath bomb to try out and as soon as I heard of the new Lava Lamp bath bomb I knew I had to get it straight away. It's inspired by an actual lava lamp, how cute is that idea? I thought it sounded super funky and it smells so amazing, it's such a fruity and fresh scent which smells the most strongly of orange. It's very retro and groovy. I also think it looks like a weird little robot face or something in the first picture, anyone else?

When dropped in the bath it fizzes instantly. I heard that this bath bomb lasts for over half an hour fizzing and I can say that that's not true which I was disappointing about. It fizzes up quickly and it turns the bath a vibrant orange. As the purple jelly starts to melt it swirls into the orange to make the lava lamp effect which looks really cool. After a while the purple blends in with the orange and leaves the bath orange. It smells so fresh and citrus-y. It smells very strongly of orange and I love it. Also the purple jelly is super moisturizing for the skin.

The only bad thing about the bath bomb is that it left purple stains on the sides of the bath tub. These did not come off easily at all and even now you can still slightly see a purple ring on the rim of the tub. Also it somewhat stains the skin but not as much as the tub. the residue on the skin could be washed off with clean water much easier than the tub. I would definitely consider that aspect of the bath bomb before trying it out. Other than that I say it's a great new addition to Lush and one of my fave ideas and scents.

Has anyone else tried this bath bomb before or want to give it a go?

OLYMPÉA | Paco Rabanne

I'm one of those people who don't usually buy themselves perfume, unless I have run out.
My boyfriend kindly bought me some fancy perfume, that I would never buy myself, for Christmas and I'm really loving it (as well as a giant Stitch teddy bear which never leaves my side, I swear I'm not five years old). The smell and packaging of this perfume are amazing and definitely my aesthetics, yes I am that trendy to use that description.

I'm not one for saying perfume is pretty but I really like the box and bottle and it just wanted me to take photos of it. I don't know how to describe how this perfume smells but I think it's my favourite perfume I've ever owned, before this I really loved all the Britney Spears perfumes, especially Curious. Do you ever just smell a perfume and think it would really suit you or a certain person? I'm speaking weird nonsense again. Well anyway I think this perfume really suits me and it stays on for a long time, the smell will last almost all day. It's described as having a vanilla and white floral smell which feels really feminine and joyous.

I love the design of the bottle itself and it's the perfect perfume for a night out or any day really, it's my new signature scent. Although I don't particularly ever use lotions that come with perfumes, I have no doubt that it smells fantastic too.

What's everyone else's favourite signature scent?
