Revlon Ultra HD Matte Liquid Lipcolor | Review

It's been a long time since I have bought any new liquid lipsticks, I went through a phase of buying too many and had to stop, but I think it's time to start all over again. I love Revlon lipsticks, they're probably my favourite, such high quality and high colour payout so I think it would be about time that I try some of their liquid lipsticks. I know these are quite new and I've been eyeing them up for ages and now I'm here to review them.

The first lipcolor I got was 600 HD Devotion which is my favourite. It's a dark enough pink nude and applies like a dream. The formulation is quite thick and very easily applied. It smells amazing though, it's like the best smelling lipcolor I own, it even tastes as it smells even though I don't advise eating it. It smells a little like vanilla I'm not sure if that's what it's meant to smell like or not. The packaging is also different than normal liquid lipsticks, the packaging is more oval than round and I think it's sleek looking. The colour stays on your lips very well, I wouldn't say that it lasts an overwhelming amount of time but it is quite good. The texture is non drying and I don't find it tiring on the lips to wear which is one of the best parts, plus I just love this colour.

The second shade I got is 610 HD Addiction which is a plum berry purple shade which is a little darker in the tube then on my lips. I thought it was a perfect transition colour into Autumn/Winter. I also love this colour but this one fades a lot quicker than the other one but it could just be that it's more noticeable because of the darker colour. I also feel like this one smells more like cherries but I think I could be imagining a lot of things.

The above swatches are of 600 HD Devotion and 610 HD Addiction.

I do really love these liquid lipsticks and I hope to buy a few more of the darker shades for winter as I think they're a lot more viable than a darker lipstick. I would highly recommend these and would love to know if anyone else has tried these before?
What do you think of them?

Favourite Winter Lipsicks

Winter is my favourite season as I can wear dark lipsticks everyday and they make every look super cute. I am a huge ambassador for dark reds and berry toned lipsticks, and tend to buy too much of them. I think they help pull a look together, make you look more elegant and also effortless, I don't look like that a lot though. There's something about a dark lip that's really cozy feeling, I'm good with the descriptions here. So I thought I'd make a post on my most worn winter lipsticks right now.

Two of the shades I've chosen are deep red and the other two are a plum and a red with hints of purple undertones. The lipsticks are Rimmel London Kate Moss 01 and 107, and Revlon Super Lustrous 477 and 006. I am pretty much obsessed with all these lipsticks and would recommend them all.

  • The furthest to the left in the last picture and darkest is Revlon Super Lustrous 477 Black Cherry. It's probably my all time favourite lipstick ever. I lived in it last Winter/Autumn and it's practically the same this year. It leaves your lips a gorgeous plum deep red and suits dark and light style make up. The lipstick has long wear but I do find with dark lipsticks you'll want to top them up much more than a more subtle one, just to keep the effect lasting longer.
  • The next lipstick is one of the most talked about in the blogging/vlogging sphere, Rimmel London Kate Moss 107. It's both bright and dark red at the same time with pink/purple undertones which just suits everything and is flattering with everything. You can't go wrong with this lipstick if you're ever stuck for choice.
  • The last two are plain red lipsticks and are kind of similar. The Rimmel London Kate Moss 01 is a vibrant dark red, which is perfect for party season to pair an outfit with a staple red lip. The colour is moisturizing and shiny and gives a nice glow to your lips.
  • The last lipstick is another Revlon Super Lustrous, I do love sticking to the same brands it seems, in the shade 006 Really Red. It is what I'd call really red, it's like the most perfect pure shade of red. I love this lipstick because it's matte and it really suits the colour well and makes it super flattering. It is really similar to the previous lipstick I've mentioned but it's a litlle darker.

The swatches, in order, are Revlon 477 Black Cherry, Rimmel London Kate Moss 01, Rimmel London Kate Moss 107, and Revlon 006 Really Red.

 What's everyone's favourite Winter lipsticks?

August Favourites 2015

I never have much in the line of favourites for the month. I find myself only buying clothes and food and minimal bits of other things, mainly because I'm broke. I feel like I'll have more favourites when it gets more into the more Autumnal months, also my favourite months. I also feel kind of sad that it didn't feel like much of a summer this year. The weather was so cold and it rarely got sunny and it just didn't feel like summer at all.

My first favourite this month was the Collection Lasting Perfection foundation. I'd heard a lot about this for coverage for a long time along with the matching concealer and have wanted to try it. I bought it in the shade 2 Ivory which is my usual skin tone. I think it has really good coverage but the texture feels really thick on your skin. Despite that, I really like it and think I'm going to be wearing it throughout the Winter months as it seems to stay on all day and sit really well. I'm not the one for trying new foundations because they really mess with my skin when I change them but this one doesn't and it's so nice. If anyone has any foundation recommendations please let me know because I'm awful at picking them out.

I've also been loving the Garner Micellar Cleansing Water this month. This make up remover is actually really good, I only bought the small one to test it out but I feel like it really cleans my skin and gets rid of all the excess make up I can't usually clean. Not to mention that the bottle is so cute and definitely my aesthetic. It really feels like you're just using water to clean your face, it has no perfume and is transparent. It gets rid of make up really easily and my skin feels fresher after using it.

My next favourite is another make up related one. It's the Revlon Colorburst lip crayons. I have them in the shades 115 Whimsical which is a shimmery pink, 001 Honey Douce which is a nude and 215 Shameless which is a deep purple, as seen in the order in the photo. These are really great, they're super moisturizing, not like a lipstick but have the colour stay power of a lipstick. The colours in the range are really pretty too. They retail at 10.99 Euro which is an okay price for what they are. They smell like mint and it's so refreshing. They're easy to apply and really pigmented. They're just great really.

My last favourite is food related, as expected. It's the Kinder Joys, which are basically Kinder eggs but instead of chocolate on the outside of the toy you get some inside with a toy and you eat it with a sort of spoon thing. It's really weird to explain. I know you can only get them here in Ireland during the Easter months which is annoying. I got my mam to bring me back some when she went on holidays to Portugal because they have more creative chocolate foods over there as it seems. Give them a try if your a Kinder fan and haven't already.

What have you been loving during the month of August?
