How Much Is My Face Worth?

I've seen these posts go around for years and I've never gotten around to do it. I thought it'd be interesting to see how much makeup I use in general and how much it all costs in total together, it could also be scary. I would consider myself not too over the top with makeup, I don't buy only really expensive products or only cheap ones, I like to have a mix and I don't wear a lot of makeup everyday so I just picked a look I had done for the day and calculated all the products that I used. Hope you enjoy.

The products I used are:
Maybelline Baby Skin Primer - €11.49
Nivea Soft Moisturizer - €6.49
Collection Illuminating Touch Foundation - €4.99
Natural Collection Loose Powder - €2.79
Sleek Solstice Highlight palette - €12.49
Natural Collection eyebrow palette - €2.79
Natural Collection eyebrow gel - €2.79
Natural Collection eyeliner - €2.79
BH Cosmetics Galaxy Chic palette - €15
Wet n' Wild Megaprotein mascara - €2.98
MAC Whirl Lipliner - €17.50
MAC Velvet Teddy Lipstick - €20

As you can see I don't buy that much 'high-end' brands mainly, I only splurge on them when I really want something I know I'll use a lot. Plus most of my money on makeup goes on more lipsticks I don't need. The total for all the makeup I've used above is €102.1. I'm actually surprised at how little I spent on this look, it's still a lot but for that much products I think that it's a decent price. Below is the look I created using the products mentioned above,

Hope you enjoyed my look and finding out how much my face costs at the moment! Has anyone else ever calculated how much their face is worth?
(On a side note, makeup and the amount of money you spend on your face doesn't literally define worth, you're beautiful without makeup and with whatever makeup you choose to wear.)

July Favourites 2016

I have felt very unmotivated to blog recently even though I have so many to write, it's not a good combination. The last month has been a little busy but it went by so fast, being more than half way through the year is so so scary. As I've been busy just generally socializing and also going to the cinema a lot more the past month my favourites are quite small but worth the read.

My first favourite is the Rimmel London Professional Eyebrow Pencil. I've been using powders on my eyebrows for ages as I always felt like pencils never matched my eyebrow colour and left them looking less than natural. I bought this pencil as I wanted to try something different and I''ve heard they're a lot easier to use. I've loved using this product and it does make my eyebrows look natural while still covering all the sections it needs to. The colour doesn't perfectly match my eyebrows but it's very close and looks fine when blended out with a brush. Pencils are definitely something I want to try more of.

My second favourite is an old favorite of mine, it's the Maybelline Baby Lips in Cherry Me. I used to love this in 2014 and I actually went through a few tubs already. I was looking for a really subtle hydrating lipstick to wear that doesn't look awful when it fades and I remembered I had this. This lip balm is super hydrating, leaves your lips with a slight red pink tone and looks so natural and lovely on the lips. It's so perfect for days that you don't want to wear lipstick but want something to wear on your lips with a bit of colour.

I'd never used a Lush shower Jelly before and I got Woosh shower jelly recently and tried it. I have to say using the product is a little awkward but I really love the idea of it being reusable and much better for the environment.  It smells very citrus-y and it's full of grapefruit, lemons and limes, it's very fresh and it comes in a vibrant blue jelly. I'm not too sure if I'd repurchase because of how awkward I feel it is to use but I still do love the product itself.

My last favourite is this DKNY Women perfume. I'm not sure if it has an exact name but I've been loving this perfume. So many people have complimented me when I wear it. I think it smells really like apples but online it says it smells of orchid and water lily. It's a floral perfume so I'm not sure why it smells like a fruity one to me. I think it's one of the most perfect scents I've ever smelt. Maybe a bit dramatic but y'know.

My last favourites are movie favourites. They're both Disney which isn't a surprise. The first one is the Secret Life of Pets which is a little similar to other Disney films which involves pets and cities like Bolt and Oliver and Company. The plot was as expected, there's not much you can do with a bunch of animals in a city but the characters were lovable and very cute and the film was very well thought out. It had very humorous bits for all ages, there was also a little bit of dark humour which I was not expecting, my boyfriend loved it. I feel like it's another underrated Disney film which I wish was a little more celebrated or hyped.

My second Disney favourite is of course, the super anticipated, Finding Dory. I actually wasn't very excited for this film as it was over hyped, does that make sense? I thought it was very similar to the first, so much that it was very predictable and it didn't feel like it was anything new. Yet once again Disney has created some very unique and lovable characters. The plot connected and unraveled really well. I think it was really good and is worth a watch if you were a fan of the first one but it's probably something I won't watch again very soon.

I know my favourites are a little late but I hope you've enjoyed reading them. What have you been enjoying this month?

Summer Lipsticks | Oranges and Pinks

I've been meaning to write this post for so long I hate when I do this. Since the weather has finally picked up here in Ireland, we've been getting such warm and sunny days. This is great but not so great for your make up which will be running down your face. I tend to wear very minimal to no make up when it's very warm out because it feels so much better for my skin. In summer it's a time to wear much brighter lipsticks or to just go for a simple nude for a natural look. I thought I'd share the summer lipsticks I wear all the time and also the ones that are perfect for summer which I wish I wore much more.

Seventeen Stay Pout in Man Hunt: What a name for a lipstick. This lipstick looks like the most orange lipstick ever it looks so terrifying, but in reality it's not actually that bright on. It's more of a coral peachy shade, although it's still bright it's very wearable. I'm trying to make myself wear it more because I actually like it. Yet because I'm so pale the thoughts of wearing a pale lipstick make me feel like my face is going to look really washed out, which I know it actually doesn't. This lipstick is quite cheap and I have to say the packaging feels good quality and sturdy. The lipstick formulation is a little thick but it does the job and stays on very well.

Collection Work the Colour Matt Lip Butter in 02 Pumpkin Pie: This lipstick is the most orange out of the bunch and it's really bright. I wore this a lot at the start of summer when I was feeling adventurous but now it intimidates me a lot. It's really pigmented and it can be drying on the lips but I really love this range of lipsticks. It only comes in three colours; of which I have them all, and they're only around three euro which I think is really good value. Especially if you wanna try out a bright orange shade for cheap.

Rimmel London Kate Moss Lasting Finish in 16: This shade is so pretty, it's a really light peachy pink and it's so cute on, I would call this the perfect summer shade. I think it looks perfect with a nice summer dress or shorts. If you read back on my older blog posts you'll know that I love the Rimmel Kate Moss range of lipsticks so it's no surprise that I have three shades in this post as I think they have a perfect formulation and there's so much choice in the range. Plus the new rose gold packaging is amazing.

Rimmel London Kate Moss Lasting Finish 02: The next shade is another Rimmel Kate moss and this one is a very vibrant pink. This one makes me look so pale because it's so vibrant but it would look so good on a sunny day when you're wearing tan or getting a tan. I don't wear this shade much but I want to be more adventurous with lipsticks again as I used to be. Lately I just wear the NYX Soft Matte Lipcreams but the shades I have are all very safe.

Essence Longlasting Lipstick in 04 On the Catwalk: This shade looks dark in the packaging but the lipstick formulation isn't that strong or pigmented so the lipstick actually comes out quite sheer and light. It comes out a dark pink with red tones and adds a bit of shine and colour to your lips. I like that it's not that strong of a colour for summer, it looks more natural and also it won't feel heavy on your lips but it moisturizes.

Rimmel London Kate Moss Lasting Finish 30: This is the darkest shade out of all the lipsticks I picked. It's a dark red-purple but it's not too dark. It'd be perfect for a summer night out or just a general day wear. I probably shouldn't have picked so many lipsticks from the same range but I genuinely use them so much and think they're so worth it, you're guaranteed to find something you like.

Swatches are in order: Seventeen Stay Pout in Man Hunt, Collection Matt Lip Butter in 02 Pumpkin Pie, Rimmel Kate Moss 16, Rimmel Kate Moss 02, Essence 04 On the Catwalk, and Rimmel Kate Moss 30.

I feel like summers not only for neutral colours but for trying out vibrant and funky, cool shades that you wouldn't normally wear if it was raining outside. Although I wear a lot of nude lipstick, trying brighter pinks and oranges is a great thing to add to any look during the hotter months. Also no lipstick is limited to a certain time of year, I'd just like to mention that for a last word.

What's everyone's favourite summer lipstick?

Favourite Winter Lipsicks

Winter is my favourite season as I can wear dark lipsticks everyday and they make every look super cute. I am a huge ambassador for dark reds and berry toned lipsticks, and tend to buy too much of them. I think they help pull a look together, make you look more elegant and also effortless, I don't look like that a lot though. There's something about a dark lip that's really cozy feeling, I'm good with the descriptions here. So I thought I'd make a post on my most worn winter lipsticks right now.

Two of the shades I've chosen are deep red and the other two are a plum and a red with hints of purple undertones. The lipsticks are Rimmel London Kate Moss 01 and 107, and Revlon Super Lustrous 477 and 006. I am pretty much obsessed with all these lipsticks and would recommend them all.

  • The furthest to the left in the last picture and darkest is Revlon Super Lustrous 477 Black Cherry. It's probably my all time favourite lipstick ever. I lived in it last Winter/Autumn and it's practically the same this year. It leaves your lips a gorgeous plum deep red and suits dark and light style make up. The lipstick has long wear but I do find with dark lipsticks you'll want to top them up much more than a more subtle one, just to keep the effect lasting longer.
  • The next lipstick is one of the most talked about in the blogging/vlogging sphere, Rimmel London Kate Moss 107. It's both bright and dark red at the same time with pink/purple undertones which just suits everything and is flattering with everything. You can't go wrong with this lipstick if you're ever stuck for choice.
  • The last two are plain red lipsticks and are kind of similar. The Rimmel London Kate Moss 01 is a vibrant dark red, which is perfect for party season to pair an outfit with a staple red lip. The colour is moisturizing and shiny and gives a nice glow to your lips.
  • The last lipstick is another Revlon Super Lustrous, I do love sticking to the same brands it seems, in the shade 006 Really Red. It is what I'd call really red, it's like the most perfect pure shade of red. I love this lipstick because it's matte and it really suits the colour well and makes it super flattering. It is really similar to the previous lipstick I've mentioned but it's a litlle darker.

The swatches, in order, are Revlon 477 Black Cherry, Rimmel London Kate Moss 01, Rimmel London Kate Moss 107, and Revlon 006 Really Red.

Mini Rimmel London Haul

Rimmel London is one of my favourite brands ever, it might be because of the Kate Moss lipsticks but I love all their stuff. I bought a few products of theirs the other day because they were doing a buy one get one half price offer.

  • First of all I picked up a new Rimmel Kate Moss Nude Collection lipstick. Of course they were sold out in the shops and if there was some left they were either broken or didn't have any choice. This was the only shade they had in stock, but I like brown lipsticks anyway so it doesn't bother me much. It's number 48 and the nude packaging is so pretty.
  • Since they didn't have any choice in the nude lipsticks I bought another normal Kate Moss lipstick for the sake of it. I got this in the shade 16 which actually turned out to be pretty nude despite the vibrant pinkness of it. It brightens up my lips a bit but not as much as I thought it would which is actually a good thing because pink lipsticks don't really suit me.
  • The next thing I bought was the Clear Complexion Clarifying Powder. I needed a new powder and saw that this one has natural minerals in it compared to my last one. So I was thinking it's better for my skin as my skin isn't the best lately.
  • The last thing I bought was the Brow This Way eyebrow kit. As I don't have that many eyebrow products I don't know what I like yet. I tried the gel on this and it was nice the first time I tried it but after that it just looked to dark and greasy so right now the powder side is working for me more. Plus the little brushes in it are so cute, typical statement of me.
Anyone else a big fan of Rimmels products and which ones?
