Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Collection | Review

Over the years I have seen nothing but hype for Charlotte Tilbury's Pillow Talk shades. I saw that they were doing a set of lip products in that shade so I snapped it up very quickly. It's the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lip Secrets set. This set includes a lip liner, a lipstick, plump effect lip gloss, and shimmer lip gloss. I love this set as I feel the price is not too bad for all of the products and allows me to try all the different textures and applications of the different variations of the products. The shade looks like one I would love before I used it, and after trying these I definitely am hooked.

When I bought the set I also got the option of picking some sample products along with it which I thought I'd include. I chose the lip bath; collagen enhanced lip plumping effect, and the multi miracle glow. I haven't tried these yet but I really appreciate the idea as Charlotte Tilbury products are not cheap so getting to try some means you'll be able to see if you enjoy the product without wasting your money on it.

The packaging for these products are beautiful. I love the rose gold packaging, I think it goes super well with the shade of the products. So far I have really enjoyed using all of them and will put a variation of them on depending on my mood. I think the lipstick is the best out of the bunch, and it's the one I've seen the most highly rated. The lipstick is super creamy and smooth. It applies thickly and makes your lips look full. It is a really good quality and I love how the colour looks against my skin. I'm quite pale so it goes very well. The lip liner is perfect for all of these products, and although you could use it on its own if you'd like too, it's best used for finishing touches on your look.

The two lip glosses are very similar. If they weren't packaged differently I wouldn't notice the different.  They're not as pigmented and as thick as a general liquid lipstick which I would've preferred but as they are glosses there is a noticeable difference. It's a little sticky but it helps to plump out your lips. One of the shades is shimmery which also adds more dimension to the colour but they're not as pigmented as the lipstick and liner and I prefer to use them as a top coat.

The above swatch is of the lipstick shade which is the most pigmented so it shows the true colour of the shades in the set. It's just the most classic nude which goes with every look.

I would highly recommend this shade and the quality of Charlotte Tilbury products. Has anyone else tried these before? Have you any shade recommendations?

Too Faced Gingerbread Extra Spicy | Palette Review

As soon as I saw the Too Faced Gingerbread Extra Spicy palette I knew that it was the ultimate Christmas season palette. This palette contains 18 shades and like the Too Faced peach range, it smells like its name. It smells like gingerbread and it's perfect in the winter season. The palette is a perfect combination of warm toned brown, nude, and pink tones. All the colours are based off that of a gingerbread man which is also very cute.

The palette not only smells amazing but the colours are great quality, as you would expect from Too Faced. The shades are very soft too touch and are smooth to apply. They have a little bit of chalky texture so don't always pay off as much as other shadows with a wetter texture but with a bit of primer and setting spray there's no issue. They are really nice shades for everyday use. The colours are all very neutral while also adding a nice festive edge throwing in some red and pink shades which are always nice in this season! Warm tones when you want to be warm is always a good idea.

My favourite shades from this palette are Midnight Snack, which is a dark blue in the pan but on the eye its a bright electric blue and it contains a gold shimmer throughout. It goes really well against the other warm and neutral tones. It's the only exciting shade in the palette which I am glad to see but I would've liked one or two more exciting shades. I also like In a Pinch, which is a nice brown toned orange and Extra Spicy and Hot Tamale, a variation of the same shade, one more red and one more pink undertone. I like that the shades are a mixture of matte and shimmer shades, more matte than shimmer which I love as I feel like there's too much glitter in every palette now.

The swatches above are of the first and second row in order (I unfortunately lost the image of the last row of swatches I'm not sure how)

Overall, I like the theme of this palette and it's also limited edition, so more than likely won't be around for too much longer. Definitely it will be my most warn palette to compliment a red or dark lip this season. Has anyone else tried this yet? What do you think?

Zoella X Colourpop Liquid Lipsticks

Zoella was one of the first Youtubers I watched when I was in my early teens and I've always enjoyed watching her videos. Although I don't enjoy them as much as I used to I still have a lot of fondness for her and the things that she does. When I heard that she was collaborating with Colourpop I was so excited. Colourpop is one of my favourite brands, I think they do amazing products, and they're always really good value. I love how creative they are with their designs and products. Zoe's collaboration is called Brunch Date, and it's based around the idea of having lunch with friends. Zoe's make up style isn't as extravagant as a lot of other influencers I follow, and I've seen people complain about the collab because of this because it's boring. Personally I am all for it, I love really simple make up that I would wear all the time, as I would get the most use out of it. I have a lot of eyeshadow palettes that I don't use so I thought I would get the lip products (and an eyeliner) that I would use all the time.

The collection is based off food that you would find in a brunch, and there are little egg patterns. The bigger packages are made like milk cartons and I think the whole designs are very visually pleasing and creative.

I love the colours that she has chosen, two are nudes, one is a more pink nude, the other a darker purple toned nude, but both are quite light. I wear them almost everyday since I got them. The other is a deep pure red, I wouldn't wear this one as much but it is like the ultimate red shade, perfect for special occasions. I love the formulations of these liquid lipsticks, they're probably the best I've ever tried. They are quick drying and look and feel really nice. They don't last an awful long time but I don't mind re-applying as it doesn't dry out my lips at all. I also got the black eyeliner from the collection as I have too many liquid eyeliners and not enough kohl ones. This one is twistable, you have to be a little bit gentle with it, as I broke a little bit off when first using it. The black has flecks of gold glitter within which I love the idea of but you can't really see it. Yet this product has such a long lasting effect and really does need to be wiped off with makeup remover to come off other than that it doesn't budge all day which I love.

 .

I actually can't pick my favourite shade, I love both of the nudes, Little One, and @ Me, and as they are both so similar I just alternate between them. The only thing I dislike is the shipping costs from the US, and all of the product packaging cam damaged in the post, but that doesn't bother me too much.

Swatches are @ Me, Little One, and Self Love Club. The last is the eyeliner swatch,  XOXO.

Overall I really love this collection and Colourpop in general and I wish I had gotten more from the collection. Has anyone tried any pieces from Brunch Date yet?

Kiko Haul

Seems like lately all I have are hauls, but my makeup collection needed some new pieces, I ended up running out of mascara and foundation because I've been so good not buying makeup recently so hauls were definitely needed. Kiko is one of my favourite brands, especially the new vegan range that they released earlier this year, and they are cruetly free which is amazing! They were doing an offer last time that I was there that was buy two get two free on certain collections, as far as I remember which is amazing so of course I picked up a few bits.

I got one piece from the Green Me collection, the Volume mascara in black. I really like this mascara and I feel like it will last a good long time. The packaging feels really nice and the tube is really big and makes it easy to apply, I love everything from this collection as the packaging is made from recyclable materials and it's all natural ingredients.

The second thing that I purchased from the Gold Waves collection and it's the Gold Waves Foundation in the shade 01, I am really pale so the lightest shades are normally the best for me, unless I need to cover more imperfections. I really like the texture of this foundation it's quite heavy but is easily blended in and although it's thick it leaves a nice glow and colour on my skin. I know this is a really nice foundation for this time of year as the weather is nice as it also has SPF 25 and also protects my skin from sun rays and I know I'll be using it for the rest of the summer.

The next two items are from the Jungle Jelly collection, one of them is a lip and cheek tint in the shade 01 natural beige, although admittedly I have not used it on my cheeks, I know that it would do a good job at adding a nice simple colour to the cheeks as the texture of the product is nice and smooth with a subtle pigment. On the lips it's very soothing and creamy but it doesn't last long, it comes off really easily but I do like how it looks on, it's very natural and a subtle pink purple tone to it, it's nicer than using a liquid lipstick in the hot weather.

The last thing I got is the Jungle Jelly eyeshadow palette in Hyperreal Forest, I really love Kiko palettes as they're so cute and small and easy to carry and travel. I love the colour of the palette it's a vibrant blue and it's see through from the front of the package, which is what intrigued me in the first place. There's only a few matte shades in the palette most of them are shimmery, I really love the juxtaposing colours of the palette and I'm really a sucker for all these bright colours recently. I love the bright vibrant pink and blue shade, the neutral shades are quite light and need a few layers to bring colour to the lid, but the bottom three shades are quite pigmented. Although I love the size of the palette the shades themselves have very little in them and I think if they were used frequently they would hit pan very quickly.

The above swatches are of the Jungle Jelly palette in Hyperreal Forest, the shades themselves don't have names, unless I can't find them but they are swatched in order.

The above swatch is of the Jungle Jelly lip and cheek colour.

Has anyone tried any of these products before? What do you think?

Skinny Dip Liquid Lip Products | Review

I know you're probably thinking that you didn't know that Skinny Dip did lip products, well either did I until a friend gifted me these Pout Power Matte Lip Paints. These came in a set of three and they're quite different than the lip products that I would normally go for. I don't have any lip colours that come in tubes like this unless they are lip balm like products, but these are more like liquid lipsticks than anything. I thought I would dislike them but they're growing on me more and more and I'm reaching for them more lately than I thought I would.

The three different shades of these lip colours are Flawless, Flamin' Hot and Girl Gang. Flawless is a brown and oranged toned nude, which I thought I would hate as oranges don't look good on me because of how pale I am, but it's my favourite of the lot. Flamin' Hot is a dark pink red shade, which isn't as dark on as it is on the packaging. The last one is Girl Gang which is a really pale light pink, which is my least favourite as I think it's a little bit too pink, and I hate that in a lip colour.
The application of these lip colours is one I actually enjoy.

The nib of the lip colour is a fluffy applicator that you squeeze the tube so that product comes out. It doesn't look so nice after you've used it as the product stains the top, and I cant imagine it being very hygienic. I actually love how easy it is to apply, and it feels like you're applying a lip balm rather than liquid colour. The product is creamy and smooths out nicely, admittedly it doesn't last an awful long time, it's not a hassle to re-apply. The product is completely matte but gives a nice moisture to your lips, not drying them out. One of the other great things about these is that they're cruelty free and aren't that expensive.
The above swatches are in order, Flamin' Hot, Girl Gang and Flawless.

I would love to try more products like this if anyone has any suggestions!

Has anyone tried these before? What do you think of them?

Soph X Revolution Highlighter Palette

If you're anything like me then you're a sucker for a shiny new highlighter or highlighter palette. I love most highlighters that I've tried but I am in love with this palette. This palette is a collaboration with Sophdoesnails, a Youtuber, I've linked to her channel if you've never watched her before, shes wonderful, and Revolution makeup. She has an eye shadow palette as well but I have so many eye shadow palettes I couldn't bring myself to get another. Now I've never had a highlight specific palette before, it's always been a contour style palette so I was very excited to have a play with all the different shades in the palette. It's also so affordable but wonderful, I think it was only ten Euro.

I'm not sure if the highlighter shades have names or not, as they don't on the packaging but there is five baked really shimmery shades and three pressed slightly less shimmery shades. There's a white shimmer shade, a purple toned one, a gold toned one, a rose gold toned one, and the other three are slightly more pink toned. My favourite is the first one in the palette the white shimmer one, I also like the purple toned one, the second on the second row. As I'm usually a pale person lighter highlighters suit my skin tone more, and I use the other shades as blush and other parts of my cheeks rather than my cheek bones.

The product is very pigmented and spreads easily over the cheeks. I like that there is so much variation in the shades, which means that there is something that will suit everyone and it also opens up some experimentation with shades, which I like to do. They're all just so pretty.

The swatches are in order, the top row followed by the second.

Has anyone else tried this and loved it like me? What are your favourite highlighters?

MAC | Whirl Lip Liner

While travelling by plane you spend the majority of your time in the airport where the only thing to do is shop, which isn't a bad thing. I spent some time in MAC a while back trying to pick something to buy in the duty free. In the end I picked a lip liner as I haven't really got any. I also realized I need to more make up type posts and I found this one in my drafts I've been meaning to publish and edit for so long, along with a whole list of other posts that are long overdue. I've been using this product a lot and thought I'd review it for you all.

I own very few products from MAC but I'm a huge fan of their lip products, they're such good quality and have really aesthetically pleasing packaging. I have a huge list of lipsticks I want to buy from there. I'd heard a lot of good reviews of the shade Whirl and thought I'd give it a whirl, get it? I have a lot of lipsticks and not many lip liners so I thought I'd invest in a lip liner for a change. I really love the shade of this lipstick/liner. It's a dark brown/nude neutral. It looks a lot darker on the lips than on the pencil. It's such a good shade when you want something a little more than a nude but nothing too dark.

I am wearing Whirl on my lips in the above picture. As a lip liner I think the colour is very versatile to line the lips for wearing almost every colour over. It adds definition and colour, although I also use the liner as an all over shade sometimes. I think the formulation is really drying on the lips even though it's really easy to apply. I wouldn't wear it too often without putting a lip balm over to hydrate the lips. I love the product itself though and it's definitely worth trying out the shade whether it's in lipstick or liner.

Has anyone tried any MAC lipliners or Whirl before? What do you think of it?
