Edinburgh Photo Diary | January 2020

At the start of the month I travelled to Edinburgh for the first time. It's somewhere that has always been on my list of places I've wanted to visit. Everything I'd ever heard about it from other people gave me the impression that it is very historic, culture-filled, peaceful and scenic. I loved everything about the city. It was much quieter than I expected and all of the streets were so pretty. I loved the divide between old and new town - the old being very historic and medieval where the new side is very contemporary and modern in design. The city has a lot of historical sites and almost every road is on a hill. The sights that you can see from various points in the city are stunning. Especially at sunset which was actually the first thing we did. I thought I would share some of my favourite pictures from the trip so anyone who hasn't been to the city can visit through my experience.

View from old town to Edinburgh Castle

 .
The national botanic garden and the street down from the Castle.

The viewpoint from the top of Calton Hill.

 .
Some old style architecture and inside the national museum.

We went to visit a cat cafe and I would highly recommend.

I have to say its very windy especially climbing the hills.

 .
The two views from Victoria street - what inspired Diagon Alley in the Harry Potter series.

We went to see the touring production of the Lion King in our visit also.

Has anyone visited here before? What did you do? I'd love to hear cool things to check out for the next time I visit as I will be back soon for sure!
