Belsonic Festival 2015: All Time Low and Twenty One Pilots

On Wednesday I traveled up to the North to Belfast with my boyfriend to go to the Belsonic music festival to see my ultimate all time favourite bands ever. I'd been looking forward to this since the start of the year and it was one of the best days of my life, no exaggeration. So of course I must write about it now.

The concert/festival, I'm not really sure what to call it, was on in Belfast city center, which seems really weird. It was in a square near the main shopping centre and surrounded by apartments, despite being so urban, everything was actually so pretty. It was quite a small place with a good amount of people really. I was just so super excited to see my favourite bands.

I'm the type of person that doesn't like being stuck in the middle of a big crowd of people so I didn't really stand too near the stage. Although I do love the atmosphere of standing in a huge group of people who love the same things you do, when I have a choice I try to avoid it. I still got to stand in the middle of the crowd with space around me and still see everything perfectly so it was all fine anyways.

The first act to play was Bri Bry, who started off on Youtube for those of you who don't know. I don't really watch much of him but I did know one of his songs. I really enjoyed him even though I didn't particularly come up all the way to see him but his personality is great and you can tell he really enjoys what he does. I'll definitely be listening to him so much more now.

The next act was my favourite band, Twenty One Pilots. I had been really looking forward to seeing them live since I first started listening to them. There's something about them that's so hypnotizing. Of course, they were amazing! Probably the best artist I have seen live. Tyler has this thing about him when he sings that's just so emotional and it really connects with me. The way he preforms on stage is like no one else I've ever seen, just like their music really. Their whole set up and staging and everything was just perfect. I really feel like I could go on for hours about them and fangirl. They sang all their classic songs such as Car Radio up to their newest like Stressed Out, all my favourites. They didn't play some of the slower songs which I really love like Goner, Truce and Can't Help Falling in love but for a festival more lively songs are more suited. Jack also got hit in the face by Josh's drum stick which was pretty amusing and unlucky at the same time.

We had the privilege to meet Josh before we made our way up to the concert as they stayed in the same hotel as us, how lucky. I was absolutely mortified to speak to him and I also felt as if I was going to cry, so safe to say we didn't have long winded chats and I was too embarrassed to wait and see if we could meet Tyler too which was kind of disappointing but I'm still so happy to meet one of my idols. Just look how happy I am, I still want to cry looking at it.

Lastly we got to see All Time Low preform. I've seen All Time Low preform twice before and I cry every time, they are my all time favourite band so, see what I did there? They played songs mainly from their new album, Future Hearts and their classics as usual. They entertained the crowd as usual by making bad jokes and acting immature, mainly done by Jack. They always invite fans up on stage to sing Time Bomb with them which I think is an awesome idea to give something back to the fans. It looks a bit chaotic to watch though, All Time Low fans are a little bit crazy. I knew the words to every single song so I enjoyed it so much. I wasn't expecting Alex to play Therapy either so I literally cried so much. I didn't think the song still made me emotional but I think it always will. It's just such a great song. Hopefully I get to see them live again when they come back to Ireland next year. Hopefully they loved playing with Twenty One Pilots so much they bring them on tour with them too because it would make me so happy.

I had such a good time even though it rained the whole time and we got absolutely drenched, we got free ponchos though, as seen above. I bought an All Time Low shirt too which I'm going to live in from now on. It was definitely my favourite concert ever and one of my favourite memories.

Anyone else seen these live or been/going to a festival this year?

Mini Rimmel London Haul

Rimmel London is one of my favourite brands ever, it might be because of the Kate Moss lipsticks but I love all their stuff. I bought a few products of theirs the other day because they were doing a buy one get one half price offer.

  • First of all I picked up a new Rimmel Kate Moss Nude Collection lipstick. Of course they were sold out in the shops and if there was some left they were either broken or didn't have any choice. This was the only shade they had in stock, but I like brown lipsticks anyway so it doesn't bother me much. It's number 48 and the nude packaging is so pretty.
  • Since they didn't have any choice in the nude lipsticks I bought another normal Kate Moss lipstick for the sake of it. I got this in the shade 16 which actually turned out to be pretty nude despite the vibrant pinkness of it. It brightens up my lips a bit but not as much as I thought it would which is actually a good thing because pink lipsticks don't really suit me.
  • The next thing I bought was the Clear Complexion Clarifying Powder. I needed a new powder and saw that this one has natural minerals in it compared to my last one. So I was thinking it's better for my skin as my skin isn't the best lately.
  • The last thing I bought was the Brow This Way eyebrow kit. As I don't have that many eyebrow products I don't know what I like yet. I tried the gel on this and it was nice the first time I tried it but after that it just looked to dark and greasy so right now the powder side is working for me more. Plus the little brushes in it are so cute, typical statement of me.
Anyone else a big fan of Rimmels products and which ones?

OOTD: American Apparel Baseball Tee

The actual amount of times I've been in American Apparel and not bought anything is quite terrifying. I think they're so expensive but their clothes seem great quality so plus they're sweatshop free which makes me happy. I've been wanting one of their baseball t-shirts for a while and finally got one.

The shirt was 22 Euro and is actually shorter than I thought it was but high waisted jeans are my best friend anyway. My whole look is somewhat 'typical American' styled with my bomber jacket over it.

Anyone have any recommendations of American Apparel clothes?

Dublin Comic Convention 2015

I was super excited for this event. I'd been to one comic convention before, last year and loved it! I knew I definitely needed tickets for the next one. This is going to be me rambling on about nerdy stuff for a little while so if you're like me you might enjoy my ravings.

The event started at half ten but the queue was so large we went to get coffee and waited for the queue to die down. It was held in the convention centre in Dublin, which is a huge, extremely beautiful building in the city centre. The event covered three floors and I have no idea how many people attended over the two days but I know it was a lot. I only attended one day but I would've happily gone to both. There was everything you'd expect to see at a comic convention there, an abundance of cosplayers, amazing art work, nerdy merchandise and famous people to meet. The atmosphere was so amazing and everyone was bonding over their love for certain shows and movies etc, it's such a great thing to see and be a part of.

One of the main reasons I wanted to go to the event was to meet Nicholas Brendon, who plays Xander in Buffy, one of my favourite shows. It was expensive to meet any of the special guests there regardless of the fact you bought a ticket in. I didn't really mind though because I was pretty excited to meet him and when I did I literally said nothing to him. All I remember doing is saying thank you and giving him a thumbs up after he got a photo with myself and my friend. I am smooth. I don't think my friend Niamh will mind me sharing our photo since it's already been on social medias previously.

How cool is he still? Even though he looks so different since he was in Buffy. There were other guests I got to see but not talk to that I'm also a big fan of like Michael Rooker, who my mam got to dance with, safe to say she was delighted by the way and Emma Caufield. I also got to meet Gates McFadden from Star Trek, which I have seen but not watched a lot of and she was so inspiring. She was asking me about what I want to do in college and giving me advice on what to do and it was super nice of her to actually spend the time to get to know her fans and that she's actually interested. After I had met her we went to her Q&A talk for about and hour where she talked about her life and films and she was just a great person overall. She's humorous and honest, things I really like in people. I guess I'm going to start watching more Star Trek now.

There were other things to do there aswell, like games which I actually didn't even attempt to do but seemed like fun. They had reptiles there too which was a little odd but cool. There was huge snakes, lizards and spiders, which I stayed at least five feet away from.

Of course there was a life sized T.A.R.D.I.S.which meant I had to go inside and take a photo. It was disappointingly the same size on the inside. I'm pretty sure I should be the next companion really.
I really enjoyed my day, I was surrounded by extremely enthusiastic creative people and it always puts a smile on my face and inspires me
I cannot wait to go again next year!

Anyone ever been to a Comic Convention before and what do you think of them?

Someday Summary: 7.8.2015

If you are a fan of Zoella , like me, you might have read her blogs in the past. I reread her old blog posts yesterday and read her 'Someday Summary' posts and really liked the way she just wrote about the good things out of her day and the thoughts she was having on that day. Since I'm an I'm going to talk on about something stupid for ages kind of person I thought I'd just write one and see if I ever do more.

Today was not the most interesting day to start with but I'm in a blog-y mood.

  • We got some new flowers for the kitchen and they're super pretty, as flowers normally are.
  • I'm feeling more comfortable blogging since today for some reason and feel like it's slowly coming together. There's multiple designs I have in my head for it and I am slowly going to make it more my own space and feel more welcoming. Watch this space.
  • I'm extremely happy that it's Friday and I feel like I have a lot to look forward to over the weekend. I'm heading to Dublin Comic Con tomorrow and cannot wait. I'm sure this will get it's own post but I get to meet the guy who plays Xander in Buffy, Nicholas Brendon and I can't stop thinking what do you even say to a famous person? I once told Ne-yo he smelled nice and that was the only thing I said to him. Needless to say he just laughed and did not reply to me.
  • I am about to watch Pretty Little Liars and it's getting so intense. I'm nearly on season four and I'm going to have to avoid most social medias in case of spoilers from the summer finale. The perks of not being caught up.
  • I also have Nutella sticks beside me and am very content. Especially because they're only a euro and make me so happy. Well done Nutella for being fab.
  • I had a really cute phone call with one of my best friends earlier and it made me really happy to realize I have people like her in my life. I'm feeling very appreciative of everything everyone does for me today.

How was everyone else's day today?

OOTD: Yellow Raincoat

I cannot tell you for how long I've wanted a yellow raincoat but it's a long time. I was looking at one in Urban Outfitters for about a hundred euro and I was saving up to get it but I went to a kilo sale recently and they had this, which was cheaper and very similar, so I got it instead. Either way I'm happy with it.

How cute is it? I feel like I'm out of some cartoon where when it rains someone always has a yellow raincoat. It's so cute for summer, it's not heavy at all and is good to have just in case it rains out. It adds colour to any outfit, as you can see here I'm wearing all black, surprise surprise. I've seen so many people wear yellow raincoats out in the streets and I've always been jealous but now it's all good. I seem to have this gravitational draw towards all things yellow recently too I'm not too sure why because it's not a colour I thought I'd ever wear but now I'm wearing it so much and love it. Give it a go if you don't normally wear yellow, you might love it too.

Anyone else loving a yellow raincoat or summery yellow clothes this summer?

July Favourites 2015

Another month has passed and I've no idea where it's gone. Nothing seems to jump out this month as favourites, it's like I didn't try that many things, but I did enjoy a few things which I'm going to share with you. These are probably the most random favourites ever.

I'm going to start with something Disney related. The Disney store in Dublin recently got 'tsum tsums' into their store. They're small stack-able Disney characters which are super cute. They're about the size of my palm and they're only 5 euro. I'm a sucker for cute cuddly toys, so expect me to have them all in the near future. So far I have the yellow rabbit, Winnie the Pooh and Tigger from Winnie the Pooh. Also Thumper from Bambi.

I'm going to talk about food stuffs next, it's a necessity for my favourites anyway. My food favourite this month is Walkers Thai Sweet Chilli Senstations. They are so delicious. I'm not one for spicy foods and even though these are so spicy they are so sweet and addictive. I get the huge bags of them and literally eat them all. I'm not even one for eating chrisps but these have changed my mind.
My next food favourite is a drink. It's VitHit drinks and they are considered healthy drinks I think. They taste healthy anyway and they're really good for you. They contain nothing but healthy flavourings, water and juice. They are what I go to instead of buying fizzy drinks plus they taste nice so.

My next favourite is a scent. It's 'Eclat D'arpege' by Lanvin Paris. I got it as a present from Lanzarote. I don't know how to describe the scent, just know that it smells nice. I've had multiple people ask me what I'm wearing because it smells nice so there's more proof that it's a nice scent. It's some what fruity that's all I can describe about it. The packaging is so nice too, the bottle is so easy to carry around, which I do everywhere. It comes in a fancy clear box stand which I keep it in too just for aesthetic purposes.

My last favourite is a music one which I only put on yesterday for the first time. It's Miley Cyrus' Backyard Sessions. This is where she basically does raw covers of songs. She did these back in 2012 and I loved them. I only watched the new ones yesterday and love them again. She has such a deep, strong, soothing voice. She does these covers with other famous singers such as Ariana Grande and Joan Jett. You should check them out even if you aren't the biggest Miley fan, her more acoustic stuff suits her really well and you might enjoy it. I'll put a link to one of my favourite new covers here.

What has everyone else been enjoying in July?

Disney's Inside Out Movie Review

I can't remember the last time I went to see a Disney film in the cinema and when I saw the ad for this film I knew I was going to love it, I love every Disney film anyway.

The film is about the workings of the human brain, in a very Disney way. Disney personifies the human emotions of Joy, Sadness, Fear, Disgust and Anger. These are the characters that are in control of our emotions and how we're feeling, done super cutely.
The film is inside the mind of one child Riley, who's just moved house and is feeling a range of emotions and for the emotions, they have to try and keep her happy. The film follows the journey of Sadness and Joy who get lost inside Riley's mind and have to get back to make her happy again basically.

I loved this film! It has everything you would expect from a Disney film. The characters are super lovable, the story line is a great concept, it's fun and it's humorous. It's its own world and it's full of really creative things like imagination land. They try to explain everything about how they think the brain works in such a cool way, like why we dream things that we do and why we get certain songs stuck in our heads all the time.
It deals with the falling apart of friendships and family relationships and how to cope with it. At one point in the film, which I think is on the ad, you get a glimpse into the brains of Riley's parents too when they're having an argument, it's really well thought out and everything links back to everything in it.
It gets emotional at parts, but maybe that's just me. It deals with letting go of childish behaviours  and growing up and there's always that one part in Disney films that makes me want to cry, and of course this film has it.

Overall I found this film super quirky fun and something that I'd happily watch seven times in a row. I know not everyone will feel the same, but as a Disney lover I'm probably just a bit biased.

Has anyone else seen this or want to go see it?
