Walking In A Winter Wonderland | Outfit

Hello!
Again, long time no blog post. I've so many I've been meaning to write and things I've wanted to review but getting swatches and pictures has become more difficult with the darker nights and the fact I don't usually get home til late - plus I'm still camera-less so my iPhone will have to do for a while. I'm hoping over Christmas I might get a chance to edit the ones I've been meaning to and catch up with everything a lil. I've just been so busy that my blog has taken the back seat of my life - but I still love it. Anyways, I know its almost Christmas and everything is so hectic and festive so I thought I'd share a Christmas themed outfit I wore a few weeks ago.

I feel like this outfit is a blend of autumn and winter themes. We don't normally get snow here so it doesn't change much after autumn anyway. I've been wearing my orange beanie bobble hat literally everyday since I got it, I really need to buy a new one, it was three euro in Penneys which is so good. During the winter as it's so cold, you literally have to wear a parka every time you leave the house so I kinda find it hard to be really stylish while also being so bulky. Shorts and skirts are always a way to look more put together and stylish I think. My shorts are from River Island, jumper from Forever21 and parka is from Bershka last year. Also the shoes I'm wearing are my new favourite boots, they're black suede with a wooden heel, they're wallabee style mixed with a more stylish boot - I love them. They're called Balmer Willow from Clarks.

I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas, and let me know what you're wearing in this cold weather - and even better what you're wearing and doing for Christmas day, I'd love to hear it!

The Fall Favourites Tag

I know that fall has technically just ended but I love it so much and I love the idea of this tag that I couldn't not do it. To me fall and winter are almost the same month, they're both equally as cold and I just wear a lot of scarves and layers throughout either way so. I was tagged by the lovely Anna from thenewoldfashionedgirl.blogspot.com so go check out her blog and her answers to the tag, if you're fall obsessed like me. Anyway here's the questions and answers.

Favorite eye-makeup?
For Autumn my faves are obviously autumn themed colours. I love matte browns and sparkly golds. I also love wearing deep reds/burgandys, so so pretty for fall. My favourite Autumn palette has to be the Zoeva Cocoa Blends palette, literally the most perfect autumn palette you've ever seen. I've said autumn way too many times, I don't usually call it fall btw.

Favorite candles?

As much as I love candles I don't actually use them, yet. I do love all the christmassy scents Yankee candle bring out at this time of year, like christmas cookie, yummm.

Favorite Scents?

Again I'm not a very seasonal scent person I don't have a 'fall scent' I just love the smell of when it gets colder out, if that is even a thing? I also love the smell of a warm fire or a roast dinner.

Favorite Nail Polish?

I'm so bad at this, I'm not a nail varnish person because I bite my nails so much, it's awful. My fave nail varnishes are normally dark red or green Esscence ones though, I'm currently wearing a dark green/grey.

Favorite lip color?

Lip colour is my favourite thing about Autumn/Winter, I love dark lips so so much. My faves for Autumn are Rimmel London 107, when I can't decide on anything quickly. Also MAC Media and Revlon Black Cherry. They're so fab and really deep red with purple in them.

Favorite Halloween costume?

I'm not sure if it means one I've worn or in general, but my fave costume that I've worn is a pikachu one when I was about 6, I looked so cute. I really love the Harley Quinn outfits this year, although I know people hate them.

Favorite accessories?

A very cute beanie/bobble hat can't go amiss. Also I'm a huge wearer of scarves, especially patterned ones.

Favorite moments?

I don't think I have a very specific favourite moment I just love the whole atmosphere of fall. It's my birthday in the middle of October too so I always have things going on and stuff to look forward to.

Favorite drink?

It's got to be Pumpkin Spice Lattes, and this year its the Pumpkin Spice Frappicinos, so amazing. I also love the different variations of hot chocolate at this time of the year.

Favorite TV show?

This is usually the time of year where Doctor Who or Sherlock come back on the TV so there's always plently to watch. Yet right now I'm trying to get up to date with the Walking Dead and Vampire Diaries which are both back already, I'm so not gonna catch up.

I hope you enjoyed reading my answers and I tag the following:

Denim Dungarees | Outfit

I've been meaning to post this for a while now, but here we go. Dungarees are the cutest outfit accessory ever. Normally I look like a five year old, but in dungarees I look even more like a child. I feel so young when I wear them but I love them so much. I wore them so much during the summer with a shirt but coming into winter I've been wearing a jumper underneath and it surprisingly keeps me warm, and still looking very cute. The weather this week has gotten so cold that I definitely wouldn't be able to wear just a t-shirt under, I'd need many layers at this stage. I look so small in these photos and the mini pigtails in the photo don't make me look any older.

The dungarees and cropped shirt are both from New Look. I originally wanted a black pair of dungarees but I got these in the sale for twenty euro which I thought was a good bargain and good enough for me. I liked the baggy-ness of them and the ripped knees. The shirt I also got in the sale as I love Cacti I thought it was so cute - and it says 'You can't sit with us'. Literally so cute, although I did get it out of the kid/children section, most of the stuff there fits me and it's such a good bargain. If your a similar size to me definitely check it out. It just proves how big of a kid I am. Looking at these photos makes me want the warmer weather back already.

Anyone else love the dungarees look? Hopefully I'm going to get around to doing more winter style outfit posts soon as this is just a lil out of season, almost.

What My Boyfriend Thinks Makeup Does

I've seen these type of posts floating around for a while and always found them so interesting and funny, so I thought I'd put my own boyfriend to the test and see how much he really knows about makeup. I think he's quite good at it as I talk about make up all the time yet he still gets quite confused. To test him I made him describe and explain a product of makeup and see what his answer is. I typed out his exact phrases and answers as he spoke them, so he didn't get a chance to change his mind, also I think it's funnier seeing him question himself. lets see how much he knows.

Primer - Do you put that on your face first? As a start in makeup, makes it stick better?

Tinted Moisturizer - Ohh, is it like fake tan except over time? But not like fake tan but like foundation that moisturizes your skin?

Blush - It makes you have rosy cheeks.

Highlight - You use it to like highlight your facial features like cheekbones and stuff.

Concealer - To cover up blemishes and spots and stuff.

Foundation - I don't know how to describe it. Used to make your skin tone brighter, and more suited to you and nicer.

Face Powder - Such an ambiguous name. It's powder for your face. It makes your skin softer and smooth.

Contour Kit - I know contouring is for like making your facial features stand out more like nose, chin cheekbones as well.

CC Cream - I'm gonna say that it gets rid of pores?

BB Cream - You put a small amount on your brush. It matches your foundation, moisturizes your skin and adds a tint of colour to your face.

Eye Shadow - You put it on your eyelids. Do you put it under your eyelids too? Probably. You match it to your other make up to make your eyes pop.

Eye Liner - It's like I don't know how to describe, like a black marker slash pen along your water line. Does it make your eyes stand out?

Mascara - You put that on your eyelashes to make them kinda look organised and neat.

Lipstick - You put it on your lips to match the rest of your makeup and to moisturize lips.

I also made him explain what certain brushes are for, just to make things more interesting and awkward. I used the Real Techniques brushes below in order for him to make a guess at. If you wanna see what the brushes really should be used for check here and compare his answers or even your own.

1. It's big. I'm gonna say foundation.
2. Is it bad I wanna say foundation again?
3. I'm gonna say eye shadow, it looks like an eye shadow one.
4. It can be used for putting on eyeliner in desperate times and eye shadow.
5. Literally would probably be eyeliner.
6. Foundation, it looks like foundation. But one only has BB Cream or something I don't know which one.
7. Is that the BB Cream one? If not it has to be foundation.

Overall I think he did a good job explaining them, I've definitely thought him well, a few of his answers definitely made me laugh though.
Hope you enjoyed this post as it's not something I've done before but it was fun to do. I love reading these posts so I hope you liked it too.

Let me know what you think of his answers and whether you'd put your partner to the test or not!

Life Updates & Chat

Feels like forever since I've sat down and written a post. From one reason to another I haven't had the time or capacity to blog recently and instead of just starting back into the swing of things I thought I'd do a little chatty post to try and get myself back into the blog spirit. Also just to have a little chat as I'm kind of afraid to post a new post after it feels like so long, even though it's only probably been a month. I thought I'd just ramble on and ease myself back into the writing routine, it might not be that interesting but you might be nosy like me so enjoy the insight into my life. Here's a few updates anyway.

  • I started back to University this month and I've been so tired after the days I don't have the energy to blog, also I have a lot of Uni work to do anyway, which means a lot of coffee. Bloggers deserve more credit for the work they do even though their lives are still so busy. I'm loving being back and learning new things but I definitely need to get back into college mode, I'm almost there. I also started a new job a month or two ago so I'm settling into that too. There's so much good change and good things happening so hopefully it keeps up like this.
  • I've actually tried to blog recently and have a few things slightly written but my camera conveniently broke, so I have no access to the photos I've previously taken so it's taking much longer to get things done, and I need to find a new way to upload photos now, bear with me.
  • It was my birthday last week and I had such a lovely time seeing friends and family. I feel so old now too, but I ate a huge amount of cake and that makes getting older much better.
  • I've so much to look forward to with events and concerts coming up and I feel so busy and it's so exciting. I am visiting London next week and I'm super super excited. If anyone has any suggestions to where I should go or whats good to visit please let me know as I want to make the most of it and don't know what to do!
  • I feel like I've grown so much over the last few months and hope my blog can continue to grow with me and I hope to have new and interesting content up soon, so I hope you stick around. If you want to suggest posts you like seeing that would be helpful too.
Hope you've all been well over the past month or so, what has everyone been up to?  I'd love to hear some good things in your life at the moment!

Weekend Away | Photo Diary

I'm back to the usual college routine at the moment and life feels like it's getting back into it's usual busy order, which is tiring. Before I went back to this though myself and the boyfriend decided to go on a little weekend away before everything got hectic in our lives again. We went up by train and traveled to Galway which is a pretty big city in Ireland, if you didn't know where it was. I've previously posted about a trip here before and I really love the city and it's right on the coast so it's such a perfect destination. I thought I'd try do a photo diary as I love taking photos when I'm travelling and also love documenting it. Hopefully you enjoy.

This was the view from our hotel room, it was close to the city centre and the beach. I thought the view was very pretty.

On our way to the city centre everyday we took a stroll along the beach, this is along Salthill beach. Also a picture of us enjoying being by the beach when it wasn't raining (it rained a lot).
Along the beach was a pier for diving and trust me, it was way too cold to even think of doing that. Although it was always dull and cold it was still beautiful.

Main Street in Galway is covered in flags and bunting and I love the look of it, it always looks busy and happy. Eyre Square is the focal point of the city and contains beautiful statues and historical sights.

Our first night there we visited a very nice Italian restaurant which I loved, where we got margaritas and roast potatoes, they were amazing and still look delicious.

We also visited the local aquarium which was cute and interesting. It's such a cute date place.

Around the city centre is some really interesting historic places, which I learned about from the museum and the walks from the rivers to the ocean are so pretty and tranquil to walk, we did a lot of this.

I had such a relaxing trip away, it makes me wish I lived near the ocean. I hope you enjoyed looking through some of the photos of my trip.
Has anyone ever been here before or would like to visit?

Day to Night Makeup Transition | Vegas Style

Day to night makeup transitions can be tricky as you want your make up to stay on as long as possible and still look perfect. You want the easiest transition after a long day of wearing makeup to turn your casual day look into a glamorous night time look.

Vegas has always been a place that I've been fascinated with. There's always so much to do day and night so you want your makeup looking the best it can for all occasions. I was challenged by Vegas.com to do a day to night makeup look inspired by Vegas and one of their hotels. They have a huge range of hotels which cater to day and night activities. Each hotel has their own amazing attributes such as glamorous restaurants, pools and parties, nightclubs and other venues that there's always something to do day and night. If you're heading to Vegas don't forget to check out their amazing Las Vegas package deals.

The day to night look that I've chosen is going to be based on the hotel Flamingo in Vegas. This hotel is one of the busiest on the Strip and has plenty of entertainment like restaurants and a casino. The hotel is themed as an island paradise and I'm inspired by the pink, vibrant, and fabulous colors and flamingos for this makeup look.

Day Time Look - Subtle Pinks

For my day time look I decided to go for a glow-y pink look which is perfect for beside the pool and just chilling around all day. As I want this look to last all day I started by applying No7 Beautiful Skin Day Cream to moisturize, Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser as a primer, and No7 Instant Illusions Rapid Radiance Balm to add shine and depth to the skin. For foundation I applied Rimmel London's Wake Me Up foundation as it contains SPF15 which is perfect for the Vegas sun. I set it with PS Loose Powder to set it for the day. To contour I used NYX Blush and Bronzer in the shade Ibiza and highlighted using Sleek's Solstice Highlighting palette

For my eyebrows I used Rimmel Londons Brow This Way sculpting kit and Brow This Way styling gel to set them. I picked the Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland palette for my eyes it has vibrant and very Vegas inspired colors that would be perfect to add glamour to day and night. I used the shades Lily, Kingdom and Cake, which is the most fabulous pink ever. I finished off the look with a layer of my favorite Benefit They're Real mascara, and used MAC Whirl lipliner and Revlon Colourburst in Honey Douce which made my lips a subtle pink.

Night Time Look - Glittery Pink
To change this look into a night time look, I added darker colors from the same Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland palette and added the shades Chessboard and Gone Mad which is a deep purple. I went ahead and lined my eyelid with the Soap and Glory Super Cat liner and my water line with Rimmel London Exaggerate eyeliner. Then I added a pop of glitter and color to my liner by adding NYX Glam Liner Aqua Luxe in Pink. For the lips I used NYX Soft Matte Lipcream in Sao Paulo which is the most Flamingo-like pink I have and added Makeup Revolution Chic Lipstick on top for glitter. To finish I added Primark lashes for a bit of night time glamour and to make the look more party appropriate.

Hope you enjoyed this makeup transition from day to night it's something I've been meaning to do on my blog for a long time and hopefully I might get into doing makeup looks more often. I had a lot of fun doing it. Also don't forget to check out Vegas.com and their great offers.

What's everyone's go to day to night look? Would you wear something like this in Vegas?

MAC | Whirl Lip Liner

While travelling by plane you spend the majority of your time in the airport where the only thing to do is shop, which isn't a bad thing. I spent some time in MAC a while back trying to pick something to buy in the duty free. In the end I picked a lip liner as I haven't really got any. I also realized I need to more make up type posts and I found this one in my drafts I've been meaning to publish and edit for so long, along with a whole list of other posts that are long overdue. I've been using this product a lot and thought I'd review it for you all.

I own very few products from MAC but I'm a huge fan of their lip products, they're such good quality and have really aesthetically pleasing packaging. I have a huge list of lipsticks I want to buy from there. I'd heard a lot of good reviews of the shade Whirl and thought I'd give it a whirl, get it? I have a lot of lipsticks and not many lip liners so I thought I'd invest in a lip liner for a change. I really love the shade of this lipstick/liner. It's a dark brown/nude neutral. It looks a lot darker on the lips than on the pencil. It's such a good shade when you want something a little more than a nude but nothing too dark.

I am wearing Whirl on my lips in the above picture. As a lip liner I think the colour is very versatile to line the lips for wearing almost every colour over. It adds definition and colour, although I also use the liner as an all over shade sometimes. I think the formulation is really drying on the lips even though it's really easy to apply. I wouldn't wear it too often without putting a lip balm over to hydrate the lips. I love the product itself though and it's definitely worth trying out the shade whether it's in lipstick or liner.

Has anyone tried any MAC lipliners or Whirl before? What do you think of it?

Lush Let the Good Times Roll | Review

Feels like ages since I've written anything once again! I should be writing my  favourites right now but I haven't prepared it so I think I'll mash that with next months favourites too. Right now I'm going to be reviewing my current favourite Lush product, Let the Good Times Roll. My friend actually used this product a lot a little while ago and I was like why is there popcorn in this that's weird, but it's actually so good. The product is a cleanser and it removes any excess makeup and dirt from your face. It smells like popcorn and caramel, sometimes I think it smells like yogurt but in a good way. It contains a lot of maize and corn which helps soften the skin and contains real popcorn pieces which are pretty cool but get really annoying.

I don't use the cleanser after I take off my makeup usually as I use my Ultrabland cleanser. I use this one in the shower as a face scrub, you take a small portion into your palms and rub them together under water to make the product spread out. Then I rub it into my skin and it feels so fresh and clean afterwards. You can tell this product really works and I'd highly recommend it. I like it better than other Lush cleansers I've tried as it's not really liquid-y and it's not as sticky. The only con is that the lumps of popcorn don't shrink when you rub the prduct in your hands and they can feel a little uncomfortable at times, but there's not many in a tub so it's all good.

Has anyone tried this product before? What do you think of it?

NYX Treats

Recently a lot of NYX stores have opened in the Boots around where I live, which is great news. I was so excited to see the stands for the first time. Before the stands opened it was very rare to find an NYX stand, let alone a good one. The one's in Boots are huge and literally have every NYX product you would want. I'm a huge fan of NYX stuff so I'm going to buy a good few more pieces definitely. I picked up a few pieces to get started.

I love NYX's soft matte lipstick range but I'd been wanting some of their lip Lingerie range for so long but they were impossible to find until now. I was so excited when I saw that they had the full range in Boots. I picked up the shades Bedtime Flirt and Exotic. The Lip Lingerie collection is a collection of nude and pink liquid lipsticks that I didn't know where matte until I bought them. They're honestly so much better than the NYX Soft Matte Lipcreams, which I loved. The Soft Matte Lipcreams run out and dry up way too quickly and come in a small packet, but the Lip Lingeries come in a bigger packet and the formula feels like a nicer quality on the lips. I'd wanted the shade Bedtime Flirt for a while, it's one I've seen on multiple blogs and one that has stood out as such a pretty shade. It's a little paler than my lip colour but after application and drying it makes your lip a perfect matte nude. It's a dupe for Kylie Cosmetics in the shade Candy K, which was a shade I'd wanted for a while. The other shade I picked up Exotic, is a darker pink which although it looks slightly similar in the bottle looks completely different on the lips for a slightly vampy-er look. I'm obsessed with both at the moment.

The above swatches are Bedtime Flirt, Exotic and Glam Liner, I accidentally smudged the swatch and it bothers me a lot. The next product I bought is the Glam Liner Aqua Luxe in baby pink. I've never had a fancy colour glittery gel liner before so this is very new for me to try. So far it's very cute and very easy to apply as the brush is tiny. The colour isn't too dramatic and the glitter looks so cute. It's perfect for something different to add to a makeup look. They have them in a wide range of colours too which are all as cute.

Has anyone tried any of these NYX products before? What do you think?
