Lime Crime Velve-Tin Matte Lipsticks | Review

For Christmas I've received so many beautiful things (thanks to everyone) that I want to review, and I'm so excited to focus more on improving my blog and myself in 2017. The first post of the year is lipstick reviews of a brand which I've never tried before but I'm really in love with now. The quality of Lime Crime products has impressed me so much, even though I've only tried these three lipsticks. The fact that their products are vegan and cruelty free is amazing. You can't get them in Ireland other than ordering them online, which isn't my favourite thing to do with makeup, I love actually trying them out in person before purchasing, but these are wow. Lets start the first review of 2017 then.

First of all, how beautiful do they look from the onset? The set is a Red Velve-Tins which contains three mini velvetine lipsticks. They're liquid lipsticks and completely matte, like so matte it's amazing. The tin is such a pretty rose and the shades it contains are in order, Jingle, Sasha, and Red Rose.

Since these lipsticks are matte I'm always afraid they're going to dry my lips out. These lipsticks aren't drying at all but they dry on your lips so quickly. They last literally all day, and it doesn't budge when you eat or anything. I'm so impressed by the quality of the formulation. The only down side is also how long it takes to come off, it took me almost three days to scrub the swatches off my hands.

The colour Jingle is the most festive lipstick ever. It's such a festive red and contains heaps of glitter. It leaves your lips very metallic-y and shiny. Love it!
The shade Sasha is my favourite lip colour ever, I'm so afraid to run out of it, especially because it's so small. It's a dark-ish brown nude, but it's not too dark. It's just such a perfect lip colour for me and I've worn it almost everyday since I've gotten it.
The last shade Red Rose, which suits the set so well, this shade is more pink red than Jingle but on the lips it's a little bit darker, but I still think it's a quite festive shade, hence that they're from a festive set. I really love all the shades though, they're all shades I'll definitely wear during the rest of the party season.

The swatches are Jingle, Sasha, and Red Rose. The swatches aren't completely dry in the photo due to the fact it takes forever to take them off once they fully dry, the faded swatch above them is from the day before which wouldn't come off.

I'm really loving Lime Crime stuff so far so I'm hoping to try some more of their products in the near future. Has anyone else tried these before? What do you think of them?

  1. I love Lime Crime! I actually have Red Rose and Sasha myself and find that they're one of the few lip products that actually stay put whilst eating and drinking. I'd love to invest in more soon! Lisa | That British Betty Blog
